Last week, Silicon Valley was struck by an earthquake.
A Chinese start-up company, DeepSeek, revealed that it had created an advanced artificial intelligence model with limited capital and with no access to the most advanced Nvidia chips.
DeepSeek’s open-source AI model, R1, is more or less on par with advanced models from American tech giants — and was built for a fraction of the cost. It demands far less data centre power to run than its U.S. counterparts.
On Reason2Resist’s weekly livestream, Rami Yahia breaks down this remarkable development.

Slavery was exploited to enrich the US.
French writer and philosopher Emmanuel Todd has identified the three stages of decline as dislocation and denial and finally collapse and decadence.
If this is true, where are we now?
A year ago, a report by a Washington think tank, CSIS, warned the Biden administration that the government’s decision to restrict sales of high tech chips was sending the US industry into “a doom spiral”.

AI engineers are moving frantically to dissect and copy everything from DeepSeek.
DeepSeek’s achievements have sparked discussions about the global AI landscape, with some experts suggesting that 2025 could be the year of reinforcement learning.
But do they realize they still have got no those technologies or high speed train, 5G and others mentioned above in their country? It is like accusing a blind man peeping a young lady taking a shower. 😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for these insights into the technology superiority bubble of Western/US powers!
