George Edward Foreman (January 10, 1949 – March 21, 2025) was an American professional boxer, businessman, minister and author. In boxing, he competed between 1967 and 1997 and was nicknamed “Big George”. He was a two-time world heavyweight champion and an Olympic gold medalist. As an entrepreneur, he was known for the George Foreman Grill.

After a troubled childhood, Foreman took up amateur boxing and won a gold medal in the heavyweight division at the 1968 Summer Olympics. Having turned professional the next year, he won the world heavyweight title with a stunning second-round knockout of the then-undefeated Joe Frazier in 1973. He defended the belt twice before suffering his first professional loss to Muhammad Ali in the Rumble in the Jungle in 1974. Unable to secure another title opportunity, Foreman retired after a loss to Jimmy Young in 1977.

I believe that there was no way Ali could have won against George Foreman in Kinshasa Zaire under normal circumstances. I believe African witchcraft was used to cause the defeat and 1st retirement of Foreman. He never even asked for a rematch !

This is another huge loss for those of us who lived the highlights of life back in the 1950's-70-s. All of us looked to celebrities like George Foreman Joe Frazier, Muhammed Ali, Malcolm X, James Brown, Marvyn Gaye, Smokey Robinson (thank the lord, he is still among us), Little Richard , Ray Charles, & Chuck Berry. This from a Chinese-American "soul brother."........."Power to the People !!"

George Foreman / a true great and legend in Boxing history / very few boxers would have overcome the defeat to Ali in the 1974 Rumble in the Jungle as George did / he was feared but Ali destroyed his reputation and humiliated him and yet George showed incredible humility / no complaints , no anger , just respect / and Ali appreciated this and the two became great friends / George Foreman / a credit to boxing and to himself / RIP a great boxer and a great man /
