They don’t want to because they’re fine with their current trajectory. Skipping console war is a small dent in their timeline. It’s sad to Xbox owners but for Microsoft they’re doing fine since all their games is going on all platforms

It's disappointing from a consumer perspective but they did it to themselves.... maybe they would have stayed in the console game if they didn't buy all of these companies that make multiplayer games to me it was real clear when they bought them. They would lose too much money making them exclusive instead of putting it on PC

Gaming has changed and I only need to look at my library that's now mostly digital thanks to Steam, I'd consider the Xbox handheld if I knew subscribing to my library wasn't a thing, I'll stick to my Steam Deck and wait for Gabe to release a Steam Deck upgrade.Geforce Now also saves me buying another costly gaming PC and does its job well 👍

Everything thats great about Playstation they stole from Xbox, where xbox f'd up at is they stopped having fantastic exclusives like gears and halo

It's a box. I don't care where people play. Just make the games available to everyone. The more software sales the better for the industry at large. Put playstation exclusives on xbox. Put xbox exclusives on playstation. Everyone wins.

I bought a Playstation 5 and it had such lacklustre games I sold it. Xbox clearly are a mess but I have one because of Halo, Forza and Gears. The only consoles worth buying are nintendo or a PC handheld (dare I say it also an ambernic). I won't be buying another Playstation or Xbox again. RIP. There is no point.

I say xbox vs playstation is what we always need if one wins we lose the winner would become lazy with their builds not needing to compete with anyone

As they should, most of XBOX players are all about shooting games.
That's also the reason why Pro versions of controllers in the market got the same form factor as XBOX's controller especially the left joystick placement.
But other than that all of the exclusives are investing in Playstation coz devs know that majority of players don't play FPS or shooters games.

ive been saying it for awhile now, Microsoft at its core is a software and services company. Sure they produced the Xbox, but historically and on average lost money on that hardware, but as it was pointed out they knew they were. Microsoft made their money back in the services not just on Xbox but within the gaming space in Windows as well, so at this point who cares if they exit the hardware gaming space as a console MFG.

Sony will learn quickly the gaming console is a dying breed as technology progresses and they will need to adapt, but in Sony fashion this may come a little too late. I think Microsoft has made the correct pivot to focus less on a dedicated gaming hardware and more towards the production of games and their availability across platforms.

Microsoft will never loose the war, it wouldn't take much for them to get a proper PC gaming service going. with cross play and more and more exclusives crossing over, nobody cares about brands anymore people just want quality games

Stop saying if Microsoft keeps making great games. I've been with Xbox since day one. Microsoft fucked up. And their ship is sinking. Businesses wise they be able to make a couple of extra bucks on the side by putting their games on other platforms. But it won't be enough. Xbox screwed up, bringing out busted games. They have nothing. Doom, Halo, Gears, and Forza are not going to keep them afloat. Gamepass will keep losing subscriptions because it just doesn't have enough games.
