Hey all, we hope you enjoyed the review 😄 For our Wilds review and release content there are 3 of us working Paradise, TwoSix & Vestmore. We have each sunk in over 100 hours, totalling over 300 hours in the game so far! We really hope the nuances in this review help give you guys a better understanding of the different elements in Wilds that we both enjoyed or felt could improve. Thank you all for your support!

Its still A beautiful and hard made game but the multiplayer system is bad. I can’t even play with other people because of ps plus even though I can still play other games multiplayer.

I am probably 14 hours in now and the story has been very good. I’m not that far in but the co op or multiplayer system is really bad. First things first, I can’t even join other people because I don’t have PlayStation plus so capcom keeps shoving A screen in my face that tells me to pay £60 for ps plus subscription. It’s very sad and frustrates me. With other games like dark souls and the mmo’s, you don’t even need ps plus to play with others. This is such bs capcom what the hell lol. You messed up your game. I really enjoyed world and freedom unit however but who knows, adjusting to A fully solo play style will be hard.

It very much feels like 2 steps forward, but a step and a half back. While there are cool moments and definitive improvements over previous MH games, there is a lot holding this game back. And while I do think Capcom will make it better, first impressions do matter.

this game has a bunch of issues and not to mention the terrible performance across all consoles and pc, and tbh the graphics are not that good to warrant the massive FPS issues.And even on Twitch and youtube iv mostly seen nothing but glazing of this game and tbh this game for me was not that difficult and iv put 100 hours into this game and now iv shelfed it and onto death stranding on ps5 and somehow death stranding looks better resolution and graphicly wise

EDIT: nitpicks, but the co-op is annoying to start and despite obviously being in a desert the colour pallette of this game is just bland and it does not help with the ugly blur and graphics issues

This was the first MH that I left a fairly critical and negative review. Would definitely suggest people wait for the expansion this time.

How good is the Benchmark for an indicator for how well it will actually run? Because it ran great on the benchmark for me, hoping it carries over.

I don't know what you were doing to get 300 hours out of this? Leave the game on 24/7? This game has one of the worst high rank rosters I have seen in the franchise. World launched with 6+ elder dragons plus multiple variants, and an actual separate final boss for high rank. Wilds just rehashes low rank monsters and adds like 5 traditional low rank monsters to high rank with the exception of Gore Magala. This game is such a massive step down from World even at launch on performance, in level design, in difficulty, in narrative, in accessibility, and in roster.

Social hubs are pointless at the moment . Cant invite anyone to join a party with out going alma or what ever her name is . ( pointless character if you ask me she's useless). Also i want to see other hunters in the open world . Fighting and if im passing by jump in . Like a free roam event or something. Also to many menus for finding things or going to what section I need. But the monsters are really cool and all have different personalities and the weapons are unique . Also the weather dynamic and using the environment Is nice .

Also the fact that monsters attack each other is amazing .

10:48 The problem is people want to see their own character in the story cutscene. Not behind a friend's character. Some people take a lot of time designing their character and using combinations of armour to look good on cutscenes.

What I wished Wilds to be was World 2, but it unfortunately ended up being more like Rise 2 or something inbetween Rise and World.

The fact that playing seamlessly through the story campaign in co-op wasn't even an option felt so terrible.

Kinda sucks they went backwards on the coop through story.. like rise solved the issue world had where you had to join quest alone, watch cutscene, leave, and then join last person to see cutscene’s quest…. It was great.. then they brought that same issue back for the sequel lol wutdahel

9:51 Darn you Capcom that really sucks similar crap system as World, that made me and friends stop co-op play world all together until the main story was completed.

In many cases in World I could not join friends or visa versa because me or they hadn't seen certain cutscenes yet, so we couldn't jump in each others story quest until we where on the same quests or the one who progressed a bit further joined the others on a earlier quest... With exception of hub quests...

I had hoped that that would not be the case in Wilds, sad to hear it is... Guess back to solo again then, luckily the main story is very short and can be done in a few game sessions...

the story, dialog, characters are painful. i'd give this game an 8.5 if they just removed the story and let you go straight into hunting.

The story ruined the game for me. When I play a Monster Hunter game, I expect to fight monsters and not have a barrage of badly written cutscenes, dialogue, & slow walking sequences shoved in my face. I don't even care if the story is good, keep it in the background and just let me play the game.

Honestly my enthusiasm to play the game next weekend it's really dropped after learning that we can't place the endemic life we catch anywhere. That was my favorite part in monster Hunter World.

They gave us the capture net back in the beta and got my hopes up and I pre-ordered the more expensive version of the game that gives us the proof of a hero song. And now we got nowhere to put the pets we catch.... It sucks. Hopefully title update one gives that back to us

I feel like game devs are snorting copium and glue.. cutscenes are chalked and optimization is just non existent. Good luck running the game without a $3-5k rig

I really hate to hear about the pc performance especially after seeing it passed 1m on steam, the console performance has been buttery smooth and this is from someone with lowkey shitty wifi and has trouble on other games

They gutted HBG, somehow a downgrade from Worlds. Every weapon seems like an upgrade, but HBG and LBG can only play elemental or pierce. Dont know wtf they are thinking

For anyone with performace issues, try enabling amd fsr 3 and frame generation it even works on nvidia graphics cards. I jumped from 60-70frames to about 130-140 with my rtx3080ti on wqhd

Ah man, sucks that the coop situation is what it is. I know a lot of people are also commenting on it, but I 100% agree.

I’ve tried to get friends into MH World as it seems like it’d be fun to play through together, but the co op experience through the story is so poorly designed. A shame it’s the same.

What a joke(bias) review, how can you say a game is 9/10 when the performing (the ability of player to play the game) is subpart to say the least. I understand you like MH, we all do. But a 16 min video only using 2 min to go over the biggest flaws with a step price (MHW + DLC is around the same price) only for base game......

I have 2 more quests til the story is beat, but so far i gotta give it a 7.5/10. There's a lot that they changed that I just don't gel with. Overall it's a fun game but I'd rather play world or rise

i hope they have also a cool endgame, like the guiding Lands in MH World. I also hope they bring back so special monster where we can earn special weapons like Kulth taroth and so on. I hope they have lots of plans to expand wilds

So what I’m hearing is…

Wait for a sale.
By the time that happens more content and updates will be released making it worth the reduced price.

This said, a 9/10 sounds biased to me.

I love MH but my disdain for incomplete games being sold for a full game price trumps that love so much more.

just tried playing a few hours ago gonna wait until they fix the performance issues before i jump back into it but aside from bad performance and and textures morphing into ps1 style graphics the game seems kinda bland especially compared to world even at its original release and i did notice what others were saying about how easy the game feels obviously others opinions will vary but i feel like its a step down from world

For those doing the story with friends. If you put on the ghillie suit the monster won't notice you making leaving and joining your friend easier

I played worlds in wilds release. Surprised that a lot of people were logged in, multiple hubs were in max population. We all had the same reasons why we were there, we can't afford a new rig for wilds.

Just completed Monster Hunter Wilds completely and let me tell you this game has failed massively and you have lied to stay in pocket with Capcom. The way high rank ends is a complete and utter unfinished joke. The way frenzy virus is shoe horned in for one quest as an excuse to bring back Gore but then not used at all is such a mess. And let’s face it the game only exists in low rank after that it doesn’t know what it wants to do and has already played all its cards. The main kid in the game that the story focuses on is insufferable, everyone I have spoken to wants to feed the idiot to Arkveld. Beyond the combat and the new monsters the game gets everything else wrong which also includes the new monsters weirdly. Whilst they are good the roster as a whole sucks. The camps are crap, why do we have civilisations that have lived here forever still living in tents for the most part? Where’s a proper village with a full set up? Not having a proper base camp makes it hard to feel attached. No dragonator btw….. where’s the big fights with proof of a hero playing when you’re close to winning? Also the biggest fail of them all…… they put the very last boss into the beta. The hardest story main related boss was in the beta. Why? They threw away any form of surprise and ruined their own game. Sorry I am word vomitting but as fans of the series I trusted that you would be critical of the game if it had failings. This game doesn’t have 100 hours of content in it. 33hrs and I’ve done pretty much everything I need to do. Got the armour I want and the weapons and I took my time…..

This shit is not worth the price when they can't even fix a simple multiplayer lobby. This is the reason new players don't stick with this game because of this shitty convoluted mess. Not to mention, their shitty UI design that has been so bad for the past 10 years. Looks like your playing in the 1900s with this UI/UX experience.
