Idk why I seem like the only one who loves thier series x, it's a great machine and gamepass is great. Obviously though not having access to PC games is becoming an issue all consoles, and more so the Xbox which doesn't have exclusives and the playstation which has a very small library by comparison to even the Xbox with all the backwards compatibility.

If you're a PC gamer and subscribed to Amazon Prime, there is literally no excuse to not grab all the free games that are given away every week and month. Epic gives away good games every week and Amazon gives away games every week as well. I have over 1400 hundred games I got for free! You all are missing out if you don't collect them.

Why does everyone keep bringing up this "well if steam deck can why cant the series S". Problem is that steam deck and ROG ally have 6 more GB shared memory to make use of. This is where the series S falls down. 10GB SHARED (RAM and VRAM) is just a weight around developers necks. Most PC games want 10-12GB VRAM alone now and 16GB RAM on top of that if you are playing on PC - Obviously consoles games are optimised to need much less, but it just highlights how releasing a console with 10GB shared memory WHEN they did, was just using archaic hardware at the time. Most people were running PC's with 8 - 16 GB RAM and 8- 16GB of VRAM on top of that at the time. So even a minimum of 16GB shared. And this was seen to be able to carry a whole NEW generation when it was supporting LESS than the min specs of the CURRENT on PC. I mean memory is cheap. The difference to stick 16 in it instead of 10, especially for Microsoft who would get great wholesale prices is just minimal, maybe $5-10 per console at the most (Probably talking $2-3). Just don't understand that decision is my issue. But yes as mentioned we are stuck with it now, but PLEASE do not encourage Microsoft to do the same next gen

It needs to be an Ally X/Steamdeck killer. If they’re smart they’ll even use the first Xbox as the inspiration. “We made the most powerful console again”. Make it a handheld PC that has an accessory kit on launch that has a EGPU option that requires no set up on the software side. Just plug and play. When not at home you disconnect the EGPU and take the handheld with you. It would even make game developers happy because they wouldn’t need to develop the games for 4 different systems (pc,Xbox, PS & Nintendo), they could just make the Xbox/PC version and then deal with the extra work of the console version only for the PS and Nintendo. One can only hope this is the plan. (Currently there are two EGPU’s releasing this year which have a 5070 mobile and 5090 mobile. Imagine an Xbox with an External 5070 or 5090😮)

Its more like xbox or pc, lol I had a ps5 it didn't look much better or play much smoother than my series s, I played a few exclusives, sold it with the psvr2 and bought another x box. Pc people are deluding themselves if they think the pc ends up being cheaper, by the time it starts to save you money on games etc, it will need a component upgrade. My x box was 200$ and it plays everything at a decent fps and loads the nice meshed in textures like a pc would.

Microsoft is just pushed to force users of older consoles by a new update: XBox One used to be able to log onto a main account and games would be playable by all users, just like XBox series X/S. Update now forces all users on XBox one to buy games separately for each account, or get a new console.

I'm still using my one x with gamepass Ultimate. The console is in my kids' room, and my Samsung s90c oled tv has the xbox app to play cloud gaming

I think the best idea is make the best technological leap possible. However, take the switch route for the digital/handheld version. This way games don’t have to be forced on 2 consoles, instead Xbox does the porting. Players choose a real 2nd option, without all of us sacrificing.

Xbox is cooked. And I say this as a Xbox user. People who use gamepass defend it but that shit was only worth it when you could do the 1:1 conversion trick. That shit is overpriced now and relies on you wanting to play every exclusive game that drops (and they’ve been mostly shit) to get your moneys worth. Now that games are going to PlayStation, theres no point for the majority of us. Games even look better on ps5 because they optimize it more since they have such a larger player base. I can’t even imagine how bad it will get next generation.

X2 and the handheld but make the handheld have different versions of games to the main console so that it's not holding it back. Think Nintendo DS and Wii having seperate versions of games

By the time this new console comes out Unreal Engine 6 will also be available which will make Unreal Engine 5 obsolete they need to get the series x to its limits before thinking about the next generation
