Huungree HTML5 RPG Development Diaries – Part 1 Level Creation

Get the free Android version https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zenva.huungree

Huungree is a retro RPG built with HTML5 / LimeJS framework. In this video I’ll walk you through the level development process. I create the levels with a game editor called Tiled (http://mapeditor.org) which is open source and can export to many formats.

I then import some JSON data and the image background to my game and code in JavaScript the position and stats of the enemy armies, shops, items and game quests.

If you would like to learn more about game development and LimeJS check out my Game Dev course here: http://lounge.zenva.com/product/html5-mobile-game-development-for-beginners/

What else would you like to learn about Huungree RPG?

I really need to see more about your map construction in Tiled, how did you split the big map in various maps and stract them to create an image?

First of all, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us, there were some very interesting things, so that a beginner like me can start with some very useful information. Do you have a video online where you talk about persisting player data? Do you store player data in a datebase? If yes, which kind of database would you recommend? Or maybe you can put a video online?
