Indeed whenever side hobbie becomes a chore, maybe we gotta rethink the mental model of what it is. Removing expectations from the hobbies can help, but can also stall the progress. Atleast for me, good hobbie project gotta combine multiple different disciplines something like design and coding, whenever you don't feel coding you switch to design. This kind of swapping helps me, maybe you could also call this part of the disciplined creativity.
