Microsoft revealed earlier this year that itâs combining âthe best of Xbox and Windows togetherâ for handhelds, and now the company is starting to drop the first hints at what that UI might look like. In a blog post about Xbox âopening a billion doors,â Microsoft briefly revealed a new Xbox UI that looks a lot more console-like across multiple devices and even appears to list Steam games.
After briefly posting an image of a new Xbox UI across multiple devices, Microsoft quickly removed it once The Verge inquired about it. The image has a new Xbox UI that can be seen on a TV, where you can clearly see the Steam label listed. The same UI, with the Steam mention, is also shown on the tablet and handheld versions. In these leaked images you can see the Steam button so some gamers are instantly asking âOk does this mean PS5 games will be on there thenâ because Sony ahs really been going full force adding PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro games like Spider-man 2 and God of War on PC and selling like crazy.

Perhaps they leaked it on purpose??
Achievements from Steam ? đ¤
If you think Sony cares more about fanboy feelings over money, you are sadly deluded.
Its pretty known now that Microsoft is making a Xbox/Windows hybrid and merging them together. Which in turn will have all the launchers on Xbox like Steam etc, and because of that Sony's games whether they like it or not will all be playable on Xbox.
I think Microsoft wanted to show that. They didn't post it by mistake.
Xbox giving its users a backdoor into the PS ecosystem. They are really breaking down all the walls, interesting.
Good news to answer your question you will be able to play Playstation games on your Xbox with steam
When Xbox is new console comes out and they have Steam on their they're going to already win the console war for this next generation. Christine and Xbox have a good relationship and they'll work well with each other
A trillion-dollar company doesn't make a mistake maybe they did that on purpose
I don't have any confidence in Microsoft making a gaming UI that can also run PC games. Everytime they try something like that they end up with Windows 8 or Windows phone
Love how everyone thinks Sony can't or wont do anything about it… Like removing Sony games from Steam đ¤ˇđŧââī¸
I mean if they have Steam on Xbox its just gonna be the OS, Xbox as a platform is so damn locked down that you can't even have third party Browsers besides Edge which is absolutely shit, on the bright side it'll add more value to an Xbox if you already own one since if they really just have Steam on Xbox you'll be able to just migrate your library over
Microsoft only needs to do one thing for the entire world to switch to Xbox: enable the Series S/X dev mode the capability to run full Windows x64! However, they are unlikely to take this step. This is the same reason Valve is poised to take Microsoft's gaming throne with SteamOS! In the future, people could adapt SteamOS Deekstop mode for all their PC needs and use Steam for gaming. Windows will become a shadow of its former self, all because of the consecutive failures of Microsoft leadership.
Let the meltdowns begin…. Sony gave that booty up a long time ago porting all their exclusives to Steam which operates on windows aka Microsoft Lol. Sony is gonna do nothing but sit back and enjoy another round of sales on their games. Sony doesn't care about your fanboyism they care about money. Xbox players will now be playing God of war, Spiderman, Days Gone and there's nothing you can do about it. Grow up and get over it. Microsoft are the ones running shit period.
Sony Killed Dreamcast with PS2, can someone explain why he's such a Sony fanboy
Who farted face complaining about nothkng. Total pos pony
Lmfao the salty ponies are panicking đđ the most they'll do is delay their games on steam when released. They're not going to lose money to keep you douches happy. The reason they started porting in the first place is because ps players dont buy games . If you do the math , theres 117 million ps 4s and 75 million ps 5s and god of war ragnarok a sony exclusive only sold 17 million units. Those numbers aint shit for the amount of consoles people had bought. Sony players dont buy games. lmfao sony players bought bo6 more then they did any sony owned games. Do ya research before ya chat dumb asses , they cant afford to take their games off pc or steam. You guys are complaining about 5 games thats worth playing anywaysđđ. But anyways enjoy the xbox games coming to you guys this year, ya should be grateful sony isnt releasing anything soon but Microsoft will have you guys busy until theu get it together.
Sorry but consoles are to weak for steam games without optimized for console stop spreading troll rumors
Oh dear xbots will be able to play the best versions of PlayStation games on their Xbox ! This will go down well đđđđ
If xbox allows us to play our steam library on the console (and its a decent experience) it instantly makes it a buy which i didn't think I would buy another xbox honestly. Last one was the xbox one X and i only played a few games on it and barely touched it. Currently I have to stream games either from my PC in another room or using geforce now which are both decent experiences, but i end up playing my PS5 more. I prefer the simplicity and reliability of console experiences, as well as the benefits of native gameplay. Games look more than good enough for me on base PS5. I sometimes play my steam deck natively on tv, but 1080p isn't greatest experience on a 4k oled tv.
My question is, if Xbox is mainly going mini PC, and having Steam available on Xbox appeals to people who play on Xbox and PC, why do you even need an Xbox? Why not just play on PC? The only difference would be the ability to play on the couch. I donât see the appeal for an Xbox at all. The only benefit here is combining libraries
