The Mod Valve is Refusing to Release (Counter Strike: Classic Offensive)

Counter Strike Classic Offensive is a CS mod that aims to recreate the magic of CS 1.6 in the source engine. Valve has not responded to the creators of the mod and they are refusing to have the green lit game released.

Fans are saying that there is a double standard at Valve and Steam with the games that they are allowing on the platform. Hope they can get this thing up and running one more time. Counter Strike Legacy (CS: Legacy) is the new title.

They could just stop being so damn stubborn and release the mod already. Valve isn't going to respond to them anytime soon, and even if they do, they might not even allow this mod to be released on Steam. This mod might die just like Missing Information did if the devs keep it up like this.
@kitsunebishi March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
i played classic offensive in 2023 and it was so much fun, valve is really doing a shit job by acting so scammy with them like that
@JustSleepyK March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
this was the issue with CSPromod
@ZeTeacher1997 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Bro, this will threaten the current cs game because everybody will start comparing it to the current cs game.

This will definitely hurt the skin market and will reduce the player base of current cs game.

With how the current cs2 is performing, I'm 101% sure that this mod will be more appealing to a looooooot of players which will eventually start pushing people and newcomers far from the current cs game. Hell, i would fully abandon cs2 😂.

I heard rumors of a cs 1.6 remake by valve. If true do you think that's reason enough for them to hold the mod back?
@deluxeonyoutube2973 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Genuinely what the hell happened to valve wasnt this the same Corporation that encouraged its playerbase to be as innovative as them i mean CS to begin with is a mod of HL1 not to mention TF2 the modding community is an absolute gem
@grubby55 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Played classic offensive in 2014 and it plays 1:1 like 1.6 with good graphics. it would kill.
@septianovalis8576 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Is it possible remake classic offensive in the cs2?
@RuskiiThe March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
they refuse to let them release it because cs 2 would instantly die
@czefix March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Good video but the bullet in the intro is damn too loud and it caught me in surprise! Do you know what tinnitus is, mate? 😃 Please be mindful and lower the volume next time, thank you.
@xsyzz March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
ITS insane whats Volvo doing.. CS wouldt exist without Modders.. It literally was a hl1 Mod
@Resentone March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Valve didn't really like fan projects anymore because HDTF happened lol
@spyczech March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Refusing to release? They wouldnt be releasing it anyway, valve that is. They could try and stop a mod but the phrasing makes it sounds like valve was supposed to release it
@Lyndione March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Yo, Valve, just release the game already, they already failed the fans with Half-Life 3 in waiting and now they don't want this Counterstrike GO Mod to be unreleased.
@AlejandroMagnoRivas March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
CS only is a machine to sell skins.. that mod is very good and they think will no sell more CS2 game and the important.. Skins.
@de_dan March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
I think we only need is the SDK just like TF2 mods
@dietzel8988 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
TF2 Classic has been released to steam! Theres still hope!

(EDIT: Or may GOG also picks this up lile they did to Fallout London)
@Peluceus March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm

I guess the community forgot that valve just released Source SDK to public so anyone can modify the game anywhere they like, hence this is why some community made mods didnt get response until the announcement of the SDK recently
@jakedoesyoutube March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Man, Valve has been dropping the ball the last couple years. Half Life Alyx back in 2020 was great, and giving the TF2 community the reins with the SDK drop was amazing, but other than that they have just sat on their butts, greenlit thousands of unacceptable games (like those 200 dollar asset-flip game bundles) and denied hyped up community projects like this one. At least the TF2 sdk dropping means that TF2 Classic and Open Fortress are free from greenlight hell, but Valve needs to actually communicate more than GabeN saying a random cryptic line in an interview.
@Johnny31323 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
The game would absolutely compete with CS2, there's no question about it. Even Pros don't like CS2, but stay quiet because of the money and team they're playing for, they don't want to lose their jobs in eSports, and that's why no one says anything other than YouTubers and the Community of milions of players.

I quit CS2, and I won't play it, the game took a completely different change than what CS:GO was before. CS:GO was perfect as a game in 2016, if only for the Anti cheat being bad, but that is still a thing nowadays where Valve still doesn't have a good anti cheat.

Fr no game does, Valorant does have a kernel side anti cheat, and it's really good, but the downside is that you lose about 25-30 Frames from having it just running in the background. That doesn't matter tho here, what I'm trying to say it that the game used to get allot more attention, nicer Updates, but i think even CSGO went a worse route once Panorama update came out.

As said, I'm not gonna play CS2, so CSCO would be just a fresh comeback to a game i loved to play. Valve just fell off it seems, even tho they allowed every other source game to be published freely since they made the some of the Source engine games open source.
@unoriginalperson72 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Might as well just release it and see what happens, like this isn't the first time valve contact decided to just drop dead and never contact a mod team again.
@Ninetails94 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
i understand where valve is coming from since they dont want their player base on official servers to vanish but the sametime they made cs2 so unplayable with awful map changes and what not,
i tried playing cs2 the other day first map i got was new train god i hate new train so much,
also the whole loadout system is awful,
i played classic offensive when it was just a moddb download was alot better but i couldnt figure out any servers because it couldnt communicate with steam
@C.A._Old March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
meanwhile valve did give open source: SDK Support to Team Fortress 2 and Source 1 game engines. THIS IS WHY CS COMMUNITY FORCED CSGO SOURCE 2 ENGINE. YOU GUYS LOSED. SOURCE 1 GAME ENGINES WON.
@MCrex007 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
I think its in pretty direct competition with CS2. People who would want something like CS:CA have to choose between low player count, lack of servers, and low quality work, to get what they want, or have all of that good and not get what they want. The latter, being CS2, is a lot more convenient, and I'm fairly certain if any company knows it, Valve knows convenience beats everything after a certain point. Making it very convenient to play CS:CA, and giving it that huge boost in servers and players it'd get by being advertised on steam would make it a much more compelling threat than just some other mod.
@Nino3Productions March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
valve did this just because cs2 is dying, they know if they allowed this mod, it would even hurt the development of cs2 even more, because most players now will just move to this classic offensive mod, so valve instead of wanting competition and encouraging this dev team and rewarding them by allowing it on steam, they just c&d it, fk you valve, these devs deserve more
@nempk1817 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
You notice how they never asked for Valve permission to release the game on Steam? They talked to devs and legal teams but never asked Valve if it was ok. It could've saved a bunch of time.

I am almost sure the problem for Valve ignoring this is the same that they ignored every mod/game that was made using their leaked source code and assets without licensing and not an official SDK with licensing.

There is so much missing pieces to this store.
@StabilizerGaming March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
I trusted Valve . Valve corp WTF are you doing , they really wanna get their reputation down

@Ra-Ra_Ra-Ra_Ra-Ra March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
That's really sad, that CS:SO didn't comes to public release. T~T
@asp2410 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
CSCO should be on Source engine right, which judging by how Valve removed CSGO they don't want a divided CS community even if its a mod for older versions. They already made mistake of dividing the community with Go and 1.6 so I think its deliberate, and they really want Source 2 to work as it will define their futute generation of games. Tho i do think communication is the key here, Valve should have communicated with CO team about it, uncertainty regarding an almost decade long project would definitely be disheartening.. Ig its classic Valve problem of lack of proper communication, smh
@amallica March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
hoping valve fixes this problem
@Kop32353 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
I love Valve for what they make, the games and characters but I think they might be just too busy with something so that's why they're unintentionally ghosting CS:CO

edit: Also Valve might not take into account anything related to Steam Greenlight because of it being shut down in 2017
@Arno_fps. March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Y'all remember what happened when CS:source was released? Fanbases got divided between source and 1.6 they don't want that to happen again
@Jokisha March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
I hate CS2 and Modern Valve....
@kalpeshrawat418 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
They need to take the same path TF2 Classic and Open Fortress took. Just release it anyway with their own website
@ducc8125 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
fix your intro bro
@eskeletor March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Maybe it's a huge copium from me, but maybe it has to do something with the new sdk release they did for source? Maybe cs:go is gonna get it too? Maybe?
@Yeetus7897 March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Can't believe this is the same company that used to hire developers of mods on their game because they saw potential.
@kotofyt March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
should mention that casing can't be fired with bullet
@internetmeta March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
The elephant in the room is that CS2 isn't doing good. It's a mess of a title and the few devs working on it are just being faking lazy with meaningful updates. CS:CO is a better made product and it was done for free by people's passion.

Where as CS2 is really just corpo slop.
@JackFoxtrotEDM March 19, 2025 - 2:04 pm
Valve rarely ever does anything, and they practically win by doing absolutely nothing. And the few times they actually do something, it's something amazing.

That being said, the fact Valve is doing nothing in this very moment is very upsetting.
