I bought a Penix Kaboom that had a small surface dent which was noted on the ebay listing and it sold for a discount. I was pretty stoked just to get a Kaboom of my favorite rookie regardless of the dent. I still wanted it slabbed up because it is for my PC, so sent it in and PSA ended up giving it a 9.
Don’t buy raw cards. Only buy slabs in the beginning and you can evaluate those mint 10s to then be able to give a proper estimate on your own cards
Great call and advice. Answered questions i had as well!
Great story! Great video! I’m local to the Cincinnati area and started in the hobby last year. I took a couple cards into liquid sports cards to have graded, and Jake helped me out a lot! Told me things that wouldn’t grade well and walked me through the intricacies of the hobby in a patient and nonjudgmental way. Safe to say that’s been my “home” since! I hope your mentorship helps their collection grow and meet the goals they set out. Really like the set for the videos!
Can you talk a little about PSA 9’s value? Like if you buy raw to grade and sell preseason, do they rise in value as well? If so, how much juxtaposed to a 10? Also, are there particular cards to aim for that’ll profit in a 9?
Inherits collection yet still buys cards on eBay
Jesus. Noise check!!
