They seem to veer into Aussie at times...

Ryan Reynolds sounds like Liam Neeson trying to play an American cowboy…

Norwegian english is still way more tolerable than uncanny valley german english. It's just scary.

This is how they directed the americans on Squid Game.

Great detail is the son wearing a Yankees hat and the mother wearing a Pirates jacket

How many times did Bill Hadar play a director of something that promised an outcome it couldn't deliver? Short-term theater may be my favorite 😂

Kristen Wiig is on another level with that accent.

As a Canadian this was amazing edmunston new brunswick impression.

Now this is the kind of Saturday Night Live I used to enjoy. Just wacky off the wall concepts, and ne everyone just diving in, trying to put-goofball each other. Wish we had more of this and less of the sleazy stuff these days.

Definitely has a "The Californians" vibe.
@SplitMutton March 17, 2025 - 2:08 am
I want to speak with the barristers😂
@pers-jam March 17, 2025 - 2:08 am
Thats actually how Norwegians slaps five. I know.
@mdyewhea March 17, 2025 - 2:08 am
I laughed, I cried...😂😂😂
The Kristen Wiig-Bill Hader-Fred Armisen era was definitely a golden one for SNL.
ICYMI, "the Californians" is an equally wicked spoof of Southern Californians (my sister had become one, so I know their strange habits...)
Let us laugh now..'tis better than crying...

As an American of Norwegian heritage, I enjoyed watching this and having SNL help me reconnect with my roots :-) That being said, I also noted that if you did this to other groups, you would be soundly condemned as a hater.

Swedes or Californians ? Having trouble differentiating between them!
@TheClownfight March 17, 2025 - 2:08 am
I like the drop of 'barrister' for lawyer. It's so perfectly unnecessary, but a nice touch. As Seth Meyers would say, "it's a hat on a hat"
@PemTheLoathsomeCasual March 17, 2025 - 2:08 am
Is it me or does Ryan Reynolds' character sound exactly like NoHo Hank?
@hollerinwoman March 17, 2025 - 2:08 am
This entire sketch (and the behind-the-scenes tomfoolery that inspired it) is a riff on Steve Martin and Dan Aykroyd's Festrunk Brothers from the 1980s. They were "Czech," but had that exact sing-songy delivery and clunky English dialog that Armison is doing. All of it is hilarious, by the way!
@ering7530 March 17, 2025 - 2:08 am
some of it sounded like the midget in Twin Peaks
@NikhileshSurve March 17, 2025 - 2:08 am
Seemed legit.
@chriserickson7559 March 17, 2025 - 2:08 am
SNL should have these “Norwegian” actors back to shoot an episode of The Californians. 😂
