I looked for those new channels and couldn't find them.
@wyldemusick March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
Part of the problem is that so many retailers have abandoned disc sales. Hopefully the boutique labels will figure out a way to boost sales.

What do you think of the Galaxy app?
@dwaynegobin1193 March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
I live in a rural area, where there is no WiFi and the only way to get the internet is with your phone, using your data.
@dwaynegobin1193 March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
I have a very big collection of DVD’s of classic television shows. I add to this collection whenever I am able to.
@michaelreid8636 March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
the DVD and Blu-ray sells are going down because you don't have much to pick from. I buy them all them all the time and I know millions of people buy hard copies too. If they give us a better choice, the numbers would go up. Stop acting like it a big surprised that the numbers are down, because the choice is down.
@yvettenj March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am

@georgesenda1952 March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
I am getting a 43 inch uhd 4k Westinghouse Roku 4k tv on Monday< I bought it because my beloved 10 year old Sony Bravia tv is dying and I need the tv for YouTube, tv & my YT channel. I have never had a Roku tv before so it should be interesting.
Eventually I will be getting a newer Bravia tv.
I love Blu Rays and DVDs and I do rewatch movies, particularly old science fiction movies, favorities and John Wayne movies. I was shocked to find NO 4k Johm Wayne movies available for purchase on Amazon.
I Hve 100 blu ray movies and several hundred DVDs and around 600 music and spoken word cds.
@sogent56 March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
I make my own.

Since my LG blue ray player stopped getting updates, I have no idea knew it will stop working. That is probably why I stopped buying discs.

@Kettleone4 March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
My son is 26 gen z and he buys dvd’s because streaming is not owning. Especially if the dvd release never streams!

@gibsonpickens March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
Bought Rio Bravo 4K disk for $15, with digital code yesterday. Slowly upgrading many of my favorite movies from Blu-ray or DVD version to 4K
@STB-jh7od March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
Just bought 6 DVDs last week
@wayneclu91 March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
The problem with streaming content is that a person al most the end of a series like Remmington Steel or the Pretender only to have Amazon remove it I found the last season of The Pretender for $10 & was able to watch the last 4 in the series, I would also try to get Remmington but so far not found the last 2 seasons of it for fair price.
@kngrfdegj5940 March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
@CordCuttersNews can you investigate why the film Megalopolis isn't available on any streaming platform? The only Blu-ray copies i can find are for Australian bluray players only. I know this film performed badly in theaters but I don't know why they seem to be hiding it instead of trying to recoup some more money 🤷
@bigbadjohnpesek9894 March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
I have over 800 of my favorite movies and tv shows on a 2 tb harddrive. I have about three thousand movies and tv shows on dvd.
@kevmorris3000 March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
You're right about re-watching DVDs and Blu-Rays. For me, almost all shows or movies are one and done. Other than a few favorite movies like the Indiana Jones movies, or the Terminators, and a couple of other movies, I almost never rewatch unless it just happens to come on TV and maybe I'll watch it. Those few that I know I will rewatch I have the Blu-Rays for. Even then, if I find another movie I love and will rewatch over and over again, I'm more likely to buy it on Amazon and stream it when I want. Physical media will continue to die for TV and movies. The only time I might buy a Blu-Ray or DVD is if I see a favorite of mine at a garage sale, and can buy it for a buck!
@Spitfirethedragon March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
I heard Starlink Internet is slow like the old dial up days. I don't want anything to do with Musk owned businesses.
@user-hm4tt9hy5f March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
I've always preferred physical media over streaming. However, when Best Buy stopped selling physical media, I noticed prices went UP. A Walmart in my area went from basic DVDs being 15-20 first week to 22-27 its first week. Being a person that buys blu-ray and 4K, those prices are now over 30 dollars and that's just too much.
I did buy Smile 2 on 4K recently only because it dropped in price
@Trekapedia March 13, 2025 - 10:10 am
With physical media, 2024 was also the first year we didn’t get any WWE DVDs or blu rays at all since they didn’t renew their physical media deal. So some of the decrease in sales may be due to no WWE DVDs and blu rays being produced either. It does count when it comes to sales if a big company like WWE isn’t producing physical media anymore so that’s a reason too.

Also doesn’t help that shows like Buffy The Vampire Slayer aren’t getting upgrades when it comes to blu rays being produced for the show. The rumor is it wasn’t filmed in the right ratio but I’ve heard it’s more likely a certain person from the cast refuses to sign a deal unless he’s paid more than the rest of the cast. So people are less likely to upgrade if the chance to upgrade isn’t there. I do think Buffy and Angel will get the upgrade treatment eventually because there’s a MASSIVE demand for it.

Just wanted to say I enjoy your "Todays Tv history" and enjoy it. The best history notation I remember was: Sign up for Pay Tv.... No Commercials! That was advertised back in the beginning of the 80"s. Wonder why the Tv media never charge for "color" TV programs?
