After living 39 years in Manhattan, i moved to the Midwest in 2022. NYC is in my blood. I will never forget "the New York state of mind" because it will never fully leave me no matter where l live. What is it? It's knowing that people matter more than anything else. Unless you've lived in NYC long enough, you won't see how much the residents care for one another and treasure their neighbors and friends. The razzle dazzle recedes into the background revealing the multitude of souls living fascinating lives everywhere you go.

That’s great when you’re a celebrity and they clear the streets for you. I grew up in NYC and it’s in my blood. But not what it’s become, crowded, dirty, smell of eeed on every street corner. It a shame but I left and never going back.
