I owned a PlayStaton Portal about 2 months ago and sent it back due to the horrific microstutter that plagued the device. Reports are that a NEW major update [4.0.0] – not only addresses the stutter but also adds new features such as cloud gaming!!!

I bought another portal to try out the new update and cloud gaming – is it a game changer? have they finally fixed the micro stutter?

If i already pay for premium membership, do i have to pay for 2nd membership to use the beta cloud streaming outside of my house or can i use my same membership on a different internet/wifi connection?

I have a ps5 account and my sister in law made her own secondary account on my console and we both share the same plus subscription. If my sister in law gets a ps5 portal especially the new updated one will she be able to still play on her account with the same games I have and still use the same plus subscription?

The cloud streaming could literally be a game changer for Sony in the portable gaming world. I travel quite a bit for work, and sometimes have trouble connecting to my PS five at home without serious lag or connectivity issues. I’ve been on two business trips since they added the cloud streaming service, And it works flawlessly! My only complaint, if you can call it a complaint, is that I cannot find a way to contact Sony to tell them how much I appreciate them adding this service, and to make sure that they continue it beyond the beta testing. I have no problem paying the extra for the PS plus premium that’s required to do this!

I’ve had it for a few days. Not seeing the value yet. I already have an iPad mini and it can maybe run remote play with a clip on controller. I wish there was a standalone version that could play games natively.

The cloud gaming when not on good wifi is terrible.. but Im gonna give it a chance. I hope they unlock it or allow a usbc dongle of some sort to plaz games locallz. even if its emulation or old ps1 and ps2 games.

I love this update!! And the games run smooth.. I have the ally rog and as much as I love it.. I cannot play a lot of games on it, it buffs, freeze or some games just don’t play.. only game I cannot play on it is Far Cry 6.. a waste of money.. I do watch YouTube and movies on it.. lol

Is The last of us part II in the premium subscription as well? I'm planning to buy one and TLOU 2 is the reason why and I don't have PS5 so I'll go with the cloud streaming method. So if i buy a portal and subscribe to premium, could I play TLOU 2 without PS5?
