Got my PS4 during Covid after I sold my PS3. Got a 6gb hdd and been buying games on sale on PSN. I didn’t realize but I now own over 100 games since 2020. I have not even played all the games, just have them because of the deals, but I am still blown away by the graphics from 10 year old games. Some of the older games run better than the new games.

PS4 Fantastic software , Absolutely Crap hardware, probably the worse console in terms of hardware i have ever seen, or rather heard, every single ps4 that i have seen, normal ones or pro sound like a jet lifting off, ps3 i think was the same, You would think Sony would fix it going from ps3 to ps4 but nah, they made it worse.
My advise is, if you want to play ps4 and are not interested in ps5 at all, still buy a ps5, its silent, just buy a ps5 and play ps4 on it believe me, you will thank me latter.

Even though i have a PS5, most of my downloaded games on it are PS4 titles and very small percent of the games are ps5 edition titles.
Strangely enough, the PS4 controller feels more natural in my hand than the PS3 & Ps5 controllers.
When i look at game deals, im seeing most of the deals on great games for the PS4 platform on the PS Store and only SOME great deals for the PS5 edition games.

Im honestly railroaded on this thought: I have GTA 5 for both the PS4 & PS5. My progress is mostly on the PS4, however, the ps5 edition has extras that the ps4 one doesnt have and i end up switching back & forth.

I bought a ps5 to play ps5 games, yet im only playing ps4 titles on the ps5...

I get why PS5 owners hate that the PS4 is still going and holding back the advancement of some new PS5 games - in order that they can be be available on PS4 as well. The thing is the PS4 was just too good, it has a great catalogue of games that PS5 hasn't matched, so the urge to move on to the next console for only slightly better graphics etc isn't there for many PS4 owners. Not helped by the PS5's ghastly design that makes it stick out like a sore thumb in most rooms.

I resurrected my PS4 slim and I appreciated its design. As long as you keep the vents clear, don't abuse the HDMI port (never put strain on the hdmi cable and unplug it when move the console), and clean the heatsink / reapply the thermal grease from time to time, I don't see much of weak spots that can destroy it.
