Liverpool boss Arne Slot admitted “emotions got the better of me” after his red card at the end of a dramatic final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.
Slot was sent off by referee Michael Oliver after the full-time whistle having seen Everton defender James Tarkowski score in the eighth minute of time added on to earn a 2-2 draw on a historic night.
The Dutchman is now waiting for the FA to review Oliver’s match report before he finds out what – if any – sanction he will face.
Depending on the contents of that report, Slot could face no further action, be reminded of his responsibilities, or be charged, which would likely result in a touchline ban.
Due to the ongoing process, he did not speak about details, but admitted he “made the wrong decision”.

If you shown the level of incompetence shown by referees in any other job, you would be sacked on the spot.
My love of football is really dying, I'll always love Liverpool, but I'm sick of the nonsense by the people in charge.
Add in the fact that no one in the game is even allowed to call it out, managers, players, pundits...it's ridiculous.
I used to defend the Premier League as being the pinnacle of football, but I can't do it any more, it's awful now, and it's heartbreaking
Winning builds confidence playing together builds trust and confidence
Playing together builds a winning mentality and great team spirit
So what does sloppy slot do ?
He not only drops 9 NINE first team top players BUT leaves them in Liverpool or maybe on holiday!!
The reason… well we have got Everton on Wednesday night. And ?
Way way too much respect given to an average team and too little respect given to a championship team who had turned a corner of late and just beaten a decent premier league team called Brentford without conceding AWAY!
Well done SLOPPY Slot well done indeed, not only did you pee off 9 first team top players you also stopped them playing together for a week and furthermore you have Everton FC and it’s massive fan base a chance to take the pee and wind us up about being knocked out of the FA cup by Plymouth. There was probably a few Plymouth scarves hanging up in the away dressing room for good measure
Our defeat at Plymouth gave Everton impetus and showed us weak . Slots silly ill thought plan at Plymouth backfired on us massively
Chuck in the contracts dispute with salah vvd and Trent and no wonder it blew up badly in Slots face
A good coach maybe but man manager NO
The truth is had we played our first 11 at Plymouth and won 7 nil then Everton would have been shaking in their boots. The crowd would have been shut up after we had scored a few goals. We played like we hadn’t played together before or ring rusty at best
There is no bad soldiers only bad generals and slot is losing the plot
Another thing what puzzles me is how come he played a strong side against Accrington Stanley a team who are a pub side and we were at anfield too !! It makes no sense to play a strong side at home against a far weaker side than Plymouth away
Get a grip Slot or we will blow the lot
