Never thought there would be a dynasty warriors like game that encourages your character dying. Isn't the whole point that you are always like a one-man army? Looks really fun, gonna give it a try

Ive had more fun in 3 hours playing this game than I did in all of origins. Because this is actually a warriors game, where as origins feels like a cheap imitation with no variation in playstyles. These games drew me in the same way smash bros did. Large casts of characters that all play differently and constantly learning new things about each of them. I hope koei doesn't learn the wrong lessons from the success of origins.

The bosses are way too FKING DIFFICULT. I'm so tired of roguelikes too. I wish I could get my $25 back, I knew I shouldn't have trusted the reviews.

I hated this game for the first day or two I played it. Now I’m absolutely addicted to it’s combat and depth.

does it plays the Warriors Orochi hach and slash games or does it Dynasty Warriors Origins where you can't just button mash and have to time your attack and dodge?

Warriors Abyss is the first game in awhile i didn't wait to buy because of a discount. Didn't expect a musou rogue like but i hope this spawns new additions to the genre.

I bought this game and I was almost regretting it when I was playing the tutorial, but as I progressed through the game and unlocked more characters the more addictive it became, right now is my go to game whenever I clock out of work.

Great game for $25. Pretty addicting. 100 characters who all have their own attack combos. Crazy if you ask me. I do hope they add on to this game at some point. I need new boss fights. Maybe some Orochi characters added to roster/ used as boss enemies. I’ll take anything.

I didn't like origins at all, so unless a demo for this game comes out I'm not playing it, it's a shame cause Dynasty Warriors used to be in my Top 10 favorite series.

I'm actually loving this game! Roguelites are my favorite subgenre, and that mixed with Dynasty/Samurai warriors characters is so good! Only 4 major zones so it doesnt take that long to play through either, the bosses are a bit of a damage sponge though.

Not gonna lie. The story in origins is forgettable at best too, maybe not if you want to remember how guan you remembers your eyes, your face, your voice and your soul, like every other character. We just wanted all the character movesets and weapons back and we did not get them, but the other game got it. dw abyss has more movesets than origins and that is pathetic, because of this there is no replay ability in origins. Origins is awesome but boring after the first play through and that was never a problem for the games. I love origins but I already know they drop 3 5$ packs for hammer, fan and throwing knives.

Does noone remember Xtreme mode from dw5XL? it was essentially a roguelite before they blew up in popularity with Spelunky.

Abyss warriors definitely grabs my attention more than dynasty warriors did. Ill give this a look a bit later in the year

I love the warriors games but i'm not really into rogue lites. The idea of dying constantly doesn't appeal to me.

Fellas, I got a game breaking bug, not entirely sure if it's the game, probably just my PC, but what happened was I changed costumes for a character and started a run before they loaded properly, once the run started my chatacter was nowhere and I couldn't do anything except Alt F4 out of the game

Other than that, the game is really fun and I've been having a blast, definitely worth the price tag imo

I think it gets a lil stale pretty fast. Its mostly the barrier bar on the bosses are just the most stupid thing ever. The costumes you can hardly see. So much purple all over the place so when you dodge outa one purple attack you go into another sometimes. Im still working on beating it and almost have but i think once i beat it once. Im done. The boss battles with those barrier bars are too much of an annoyance for me. I can appreciate the old music im this game. Also appreciate some okd weapons coming back

My Only Gripe, and I do mean MY ONLY GRIPE WITH THIS GAME, Where in the hell is the Jin Faction, not a single person from the Jin faction is here, no Sima Shi, no Sima Zhao, Wang Yuanji, Guo Huai NOTHING, and ever since they got introduced they was my favorite dynasty, hopefully they bring them in later, considering the fact they are using D8 characters

Ehh love the idea but coulda been better. The combat isn’t that enjoyable on the extremes. The first levels are a snooze fest and the later ones are just attacking as fast as you can before dashing out of a mess of purple AoE. It’s fine but its enjoyability wears off quick. The “rng replayability” feels meaningless when compared to what was just described. It’s all the same run after run. Worth it for $25. Not for $40 even tho the DW3 costumes are legit.

A comment on characters that are missing. All of Jin is absent as well. Which is a shame because I do like the Sima brothers. I can only hope there will be dlc. Another thing I notice is that in the later levels, you fight against the orochi foot soldiers, which gives me hope that they may add the orochi characters as well.

Looks very interesting, DW8XL was my first musou game and a genre i loved since. And the Diablo/PoE etc style of game is also one i love in general. So a mix seems great
I'm playing Origins at the moment, am at like 98% of the story. After that want to try hardest difficulty and then move on to another game

From what the interviews have said about character selection. It was more about how well they can fit them into synergies and builds. If a character was more like a loner or didn't synergize too well they weren't going in.

For those wondering: max cumulative level is 500. Also, highest final power I saw was 99,999,999 with Cao Cao.
