2Unreal5Underground is a fan-made project that aims to remaster the popular 2004 video game Need for Speed: Underground 2 using Unreal Engine 5. This project was originally initiated on Unreal Engine 4 but has since been upgraded to Unreal Engine 5 to take advantage of the newer engine’s capabilities.

The team behind 2Unreal5Underground, primarily a duo of developers, has been working on this remake to bring a modern touch to the classic racing game. They’ve focused on improving various aspects of the game, including enhanced physics, car performance, and visual effects. The remaster is designed to stay true to the original game while incorporating new features like improved aerodynamics, updated car customization options, and advanced lighting and particle effects.

Just a little something: the game is infinitely less shiny than the original, and i get that it may be more realistic, but i'm gonna drill this in people's minds until the day i die, style beats realism, unless the purpose of the product is to be realistic (and this one is a remaster). Removing VFX and the shiny, glowy aspect of the original kinda kills its looks. As impressive as the remaster is, It's just barely Underground 2

Bros really out here downplaying the original and shitting on it for no reason, the game came out 21 years ago, and it still functions better than in UE5. IMO Youre remake will never be better than the original. This game came out when the industry still saw games as something meant to be fun. The need for the most realistic experience possible is what has killed gaming in general and now its being doubled down by weird live services. If i wanted realism in games id just go touch grass and live life

The most imporant thing? EA is completely fine with this, while Rockstar has been shutting down modders. Absolutely mind boggling when you consider EA is hated by most and Rockstar loved by many.
