I have a theory. It is said that if you work out too much, your body can actually start to lose muscle. Rest is important to allow the body to rebuild the muscles that tear during working out. If you work out too much and rest too little, then that can lead to a loss of muscle. I wonder if that is what happened to him. What I am also trying to figure out is if the trainer was doing some kind of mind control on him so he would be unable to see himself as everyone else saw him, or if the trainer was just a figment of his imagination. After a devastating breakup, the main character starts working out like a madman and imagines a friend there to help him and cheer him on. 🏋‍♂💪🦴
