I mean, iRacing has been always-online since it launched in 2008 and was entirely built around being so.. kinda grasping at straws with that one. GT7 however is absolutely egregious. AC Evo going the same route is mega disappointing. Comparatively, I'd wager that when NASCAR '25 releases, most if not all content will be accessible offline.

I completely agree with your points, we need to criticize games, so that they can improve. Evo does not deserve a free pass, they’ve overhyped their game now they need to over deliver. By the way, always online will kill this game.

When AC EVO was announced, I was excited. I grabbed the early access to save some money. Now, I am considering refunding the game because I see EVO as a GT7 clone. Saying that, I mean it is more of a driving game than a racing sim which is disappointing to me. It probably will be a really good game eventually but not something that I want to spend time doing. And yes, the online only is annoying.

Pretty sure it's 'Eeevo' as in Eeeeeevolved, which is says on their tagline "Driving Simulation Evolved". Unless you pronounce Evolved in the same way.

I honestly hate the game is always online, the red tape they want to put on mods, the fbb feeling like ACC and way too easy, the performance issues, I feel some of it will be impossible for kunos to iron out in a year at least. I will stick to AC.

It’s like never down.. unless its a patch or maintenance patch, the last time it was down unofficially was a DDOS attack last year and that happened like once

I stopped playing for his bad optimized it is.

Even with high fps, 100+ I get stutters, lag and even flickers, but even the menus feel good.

Why do these companies always copy the worst parts of GT7 like paying for each car, and always online - and never the good parts like the career mode that's actually worth playing?

They should learn a little bit from forza horizon series for open world aspect...not that those are perfect by any means but still some cool things to learn there! especially in terms of graphics, optimization, types of online game modes

I spent a lot of my weekend playing Evo. The servers constantly going down was frustrating as hell but I was enjoying the driving so much I kept pushing through it. I suspect this will get better over time and its required for the in game economy or people would just add money to their bank through mods or hacking. My performance isnt great but it isnt bad either (triple 1440p high settings) I suspect if I could use DLSS that I could hit the number I want.

It’s a tradeoff between requiring online and susceptibility to cheating. All studios face this and the reality is most choose always online nowadays. Personally, I think it’s worth it for any game that is competitive, even knowing that it eventually may be shut down. Usually though, the community finds a way to keep games like this alive offline.

ACC had issues with pop-in, blurriness and other graphical immersion breakers... Baffles me that they would leave unreal engine only to trade it for more blurriness and immersion breaking pop-in. AMS 2 looks amazing, has minimal pop-in and runs great on a ten year old middle of the road PC. If I were creating a game, I would aim for what AMS 2 and even Wreckfest has done... Wreckfest also looks great on my aging PC.

pls don't say version 0.15, it is 0.1.5 and 0.15 is NOT the same as 0.1.5 - these numbers have some meaning (at least for software devs). look up "semantic versioning" for more details xD i'm a bit triggered rn

It won't even register my pedals (sim-grade vx pro) correctly, I've had this game for 2.5 weeks now and I can't play it cause it won't register things correctly.
Rennsport early access registers them, all my racing sims do fine, EXCEPT Ac evo

Did you say iRacing service is down more often than you like? I have only seen it down during announced upgrades and patches over the past year which is once a season and maybe a few hours at most??

not just the challenges menu could need some work. i also hate how much going back and forth there is when just setting up some free driving session. like selecting the car, customizing it, selecting the track, selecting the weather. it's all in completely different places. didn't they learn from content manager? there is a reason why people don't use assetto corsa.exe to run assetto corsa.

my main issue with the game so far is that it doesn't replace assetto corsa 1 without any mods and additional content, unless you think it's valuable to drive an electric car and have the latest version of the gt86 (the gr86). i don't find such details important. i'm looking for a new experience in driving in general. away from boring tracks, towards freeroaming and immersion. that's not there yet and the challenges are not capturing the essence of driving either. you can't get into the feel for the car if you only drive 3 corners

this is such a deal breaker for me i hate always online because i was only looking for the career mode,and have to use always online for a single player career mode is just useless.

I admire the blind support still given to this title in its current state. But hey don't worry. I'm sure devotees will be able to install several hundred mods like shader patch or whatever to get it up to early access alpha graphics quality. Oh but hold on I forgot the physics are the best in sim racing just like AC so all else can be forgiven. Yeah right 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

AC1 went through this phase of development, it was considered worse than the original rFactor, LFS and iRacing for more than a year after release. Same with ACC, 1 car and 1 track and so many bugs and it was impossible to run on a mid-grade PC. Not that these concerns arent valid but, dont you think we need to wait for full release to see which features will stay or go and what gets fixed? I personally dont think they will keep online only mode, AI races and single player cruising will be available offline by the release date, but career mode, challenges, traffic servers are gonna require being online obviously

On PC (if there is enough interest) pirates will make Cracks that will bypass that requirement. And if mods require online and approval from Kunos, its game over for this game. People will crack the shit ot of it and no one will buy the game. Or they will just continue to play the original Asseto Corsa.
This is why ACC failed, not able to mod the game. ACC is much improved over the original, but it has limited content.
The only reason people play the original Asseto Corsa is the mods. The original game is pretty horrible without mods, even the menu looks like it was made by monkeys.

My goodness so much b***** in this new gen consoles look at PlayStation 4 drive club graphics in a scale from 1 to 10 I give it 10 to drive club compared to the new new games. Nowadays is worth checking it out. How can PlayStation 4 play drive club the way they do, it's insane, incredible game graphically. Just an example if you look at the bumper while while the game is running, the trees on the hood appears smoothly. Almost like in a real life and check it out. And check it out. The new games now is trash. Don't take my word for it. Go check it out for yourselves

Definitely agree with hating the always online. Why do I need to go online when I play single? If I want to play an online race, I’ll go online. If I want to do single player challenges or races then why do I need to go online? If it always need an online connection, it’ll just drive people to get a pirate copy to play without online or just stick with the original AC
