The Xbox Developer Direct 2025 is how you start off a year in gaming. It had everything a gamer wants to see from a gaming showcase and more. We got 4 great looks at great games. We got game play. We got release dates. We got shadow drops. There were however some things in this Xbox dev direct that I did not expect. Let’s talk about them!

What was unexpected? Microsoft does the same thing every year. They announce multi platform games with no exclusive games 🤣🤣🤣

Phil's interview with Parris really put my mind at ease. He says he wants to win the next gen hardware war! He also wants all of Xbox's games to reach more players which is a win within itself business wise..

I got the ps5 pro and the series x. Ng2 runs the same if not even better on the series x compared to the pro.

The games that got me hyped from the direct were mostly Ninja Gaiden 4, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and Expedition 33.

Doom looks cool but the only Doom game I played was the first one back in the 90s.

Thinking about it Microsoft owns id Software and Raven Software. They worked together back in the 90s. I would love Raven Software to revive the Heretic/Hexen series.

What are you talking about Ninja Gaiden is being published by Microsoft which makes that game first party. That means that they paid for the game to be made and is offering it to everyone including PlayStation. Do you research dude

The new Xbox strategy will probably give them a lot of leverage with third party developers. If they’re able to approach these devs with the kind of support they would give a game pass game and the devs also knowing they can recoup their costs by selling everywhere else, I don’t see why you would choose to work exclusively with PlayStation instead. More players/more revenue for the devs while Xbox gets more content to try and grow game pass.

To be fair they opened the event with a first party multi plat game. That’s why they showed off the xbox games studios logo before getting into ninja gaiden

I was really impressed with how Xbox/microsoft delivered that direct yesterday. Doom looks dope, south of midnight as you said looks like a vibe, ninja gaiden coming back was very cool, and expedition 33 is definitely right up my alley. With that said I really hope Microsoft can keep this up going forward.

This was a good developer direct. Xbox/Microsoft Gaming is a publisher now. No need to be acting like this new or making this a console war thing. Also were getting Ninja Gaiden 4 because Microsoft is Publishing it and that was probably the same for Black II.

Also you can bring up the PS5 pro optimizations and all that, PC will still be the best place to play, but not only that, if the games are bought outside of Xbox, theyre still funding Xbox

It’s kind of crazy as given Sony’s live service scorched earth disaster, and that likely being years to rebound from as studios start new projects, now would be the perfect time for XBox to strike. But they’re only making it easier for Sony by giving them all their titles, and not engaging in the same third party exclusivity deals Sony does to keep games off of PS5 further. It’s a lopsided dynamic that I’m just not sure how it will turn out. Although with Square leaving the exclusivity space and these mega budget games being less and less sustainable it makes me curious how long these quarter to half a billion dollar titles can sell on only one platform. Time will tell. But Sony def caught some luck with this new dynamic. I prefer PS5 anyway, and have a Pro, so this works out for me and is not a console war post. It’s just clear we are moving into a very different era for console gaming.

I really don't mind Xbox games going to PS5, as long as they keep producing games for Xbox Play Anywhere (which all of these are) so I can continue progress on my Xbox, PC, and Cloud, I'm good.

I thought it was a great event. The Pro enhanced games…was something else. But apparently NG Black 2 isn’t that great with PSSR. I hope this isn’t true.

The Developer Direct was very enjoyable, very well done and executed, but unless I missed something, it didn't say on which platform the in-game footage was captured on.

Microsoft gaming really is going strong on 3rd party. Even promoting pro upgrades. It's big signal for what's coming this year and in the next. The end of red lines and the need to sell software

The developer direct was a win win if your have game pass ultimate you have new games to look forward to and if you love games in general your winning as well cause your platform will be enjoying the enhancements if u have a ps5 pro.

Everything they showed was pretty good, and the presentation was very well timed. What surprised me was, that they actually went ahead and mentioned PS5.
But not only that, the games are getting the Pro love too, this tells me that we are indeed looking at Microsoft Gaming as the new Activision/ Ubisoft/ Capcom big publisher, they have officially become the largest AAA game provider out there, and this solidify it.
Nevertheless great for gamers, good for Microsoft, and for their fans, well Microsoft will still make consoles, and if that is what they prefer, along with their controller, Microsoft is still providing that option for their loyal fans.

This was such a great showcase. Not only did they show sustained gameplay for each game. They talked about what went into their creative process and sold you on the games. This is how you do it!

I have to agree, this has been one of the best Xbox Directs ever. I cant remember a time seeing this much gameplay on upcoming games along with dates. Add on top of that, Xbox decided to rip off the bandaid, showing even the most doubtful of Xbox players that yes, most of their games are coming to Playstation.
