Xbox has had some tough years but started this one off with a bang with its Developer Direct 2025. In the days following the Dev Direct, Phil Spencer has been doing some talking, and in a change of both tone and strategy, it seems he’s finally giving the Xbox fanbase some answers—answers they may not like. Let’s discuss these Phil Spencer interviews and what they mean to the Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo fans.

Play station will eventually follow suit and start releasing all their first party games on other consoles. PC was only the start. They simply are leaving too much money on the table.

They might win on hardware but nobody cares if the games for it can be played just as well on other platforms. Where said platforms get exclusive games you won't get on an Xbox. As a playstation fanboy since the PS3, I am really going to miss the Xbox man.

Here’s how I see Microsoft’s strategy: by bringing their games to PS5, they’re essentially using Sony’s platform as free advertising for their IPs. Most PS5 gamers have never played Microsoft’s titles, and now is their chance to get hooked. Then, if sequels or future installments become exclusive to Xbox Prime or PC, those players will feel compelled to switch. Plus, with rumors suggesting the next Xbox might be able to play PC games via Steam, it could become the best console option—offering the widest range of games in one place.

It's all about the money this looks like the end of Xbox Phil Spencer doesn't care about Xbox gamers. Sony and Nintendo aren't rushing to bring all their games over to Xbox. That was a very good question asked and Mr Spencer couldn't answer it correctly even talking about the next system. He makes good decisions about as good as Kathleen Kennedy.

ok time to educate everyone here......if a console has no exclusives then what is the purpose of a console existing? exclusive games are literally a console's Life's Blood just like the oil inside a car's engine = no engine oil then the engine dies, no exclusive games then the console dies simple as that. i hope Japanese Sony & Nintendo don't follow what american microsoft/xbox is doing. exclusive games are what sells consoles & define what a console is by making it unique to have being very different like come on now but if microsoft wants to die off by going this NO Exclusives way then i don't care. and then americans/few westerns always think that pc has to have/take everything from the other 2 or 3 console makers well guess what no it doesn't because PC can go develop their OWN games & create their OWN game studios just like what Sony & Nintendo has been doing since the early 1980's with extremely hard work, many failures, & struggles having very little money also with those 2 companies creating their corporations during both WW1 (Nintendo) & WW2 (Sony) days. but the mega super rich microsoft xbox porting ALL their games to other consoles & pc is the most dumb idea of any console gaming company ever (really microsoft is only a software pc company anyway but still though). also screw game pass subscription services because it will be the end of owning/buying games which also strongly pays/supports the game devs/studios & having no exclusive games will be the end of making new generation consoles one day soon. i hope this never happens to the other 2 console makers from Japan & hope that Japan / Asia don't go this direction microsoft's going with xbox

also this will be the end of newer USED games with cool box arts at game stores like gamestop & others. those days will forever be gone all thanks to gamepass & microsoft worshiping money because all they care about is lots of money... R.I.P Kameo 2 & Scale Bound

Why would they even consider making hardware anymore? The point of hardware is optimization of your own games, as a console, to run best, and in turn... they would sell your hardware. No optimization, no reason to buy games on a platform that will run them worse than PS.

Next gen Xbox should make just a very budget console, similar to the S, if they're to stay in the hardware space. Nobody will purchase any high-end machine from Xbox ever again.

I own all consoles and have a decent pc. I would recommend xbox over ps5. Better games this gen imo(i can go into detial if asked) , better console features, better value.
Ps5 has been an utter disappointment on every level. We have yet to get a true next gen 1st party experience from sony. Psn is the worst sub service of the 3, NSO is even better.
Ive been thoroughly disappointed with ps5.

What's the point in buying a PlayStation there already doing what Xbox is doing they already put alot of their exclusives on Xbox except their big 3 and PlayStation already put their exclusives on PC I believe PlayStation is going to put their big 3 exclusive on Xbox and everywhere soon to

Because... it's a good console? People today make no sense lol. I got one because it has superior VRR to PS5, PS5 doesn't even support my gaming monitor. It has the best subscription service there is by far. Best back compatibility. Better hardware with much nicer console design. Quick resume (heard PS5 pro scam doesn't have lol). Cheaper to get games with rewards. Play anywhere... like seriously let's say Starfield goes to PS5... why would I buy it there when getting on Xbox also gets you PC version free and of course being able to play it on future handheld devices. Free cloud saves which I see is expanding just like play anywhere. And to end it all... guess what. Xbox will continue to still have console exclusives.

I've always prefered the Xbox systems and games over Playstation's. I have both consoles for their games. However it makes no sense for me to buy any future Xbox consoles if their games are going to be released on other platforms anyway. Not that i plan on buying anymore next gen consoles with the state of the games nowadays (apart from Nintendo), all the others are heading digital only, are incomplete, buggy, censored (apart from their own releases), nickle and dime you at every turn. Just too much mess, i'm going back to simpler times. I like to OWN my games not rent them.

Play Anywhere, Game Pass, free cloud saves. Exclusives aren’t everything anymore although I still believe in them. Nothing’s for certain but I can Sony and maybe some day Nintendo going the same direction either by putting their ecosystems on other platforms and/or first parties

PS needs a strong, focused competitor that brings its own brand philosophy to gaming. An example would be Apple with dedicated gaming hardware and controller with jaw dropping exclusive titles built by in house studios. That would shake things up. I’m of a gaming generating who buys a game and plays it through. All you can eat gaming is yawn IMO.

They have failed to release meaningful video games, period. All the crazy amounts of money they spent, COULD have been great for Xbox, instead they bought their way OUT of hardware

Reasons to buy an xbox ....
1. Cheapest entry into current gen gaming on a console.
2., greatest value in gaming for playing first party and 3rd party games on gamepass, whilst, saving a shed ton of money, call of duty...indiana jones...doom...gears.. fable...avowed...diablo 4...and so much more...fantastic value to plat all these games without having to shell out £40-£70 per game.

These are some solid reasons to own one, just saying🤷‍♂️
Sure their not gonna be the reasons for everyone to buy one, but still some solid reasons for someone new to jump in. If not for you theirs other options..ps5 or nintendo, just play where best suits your needs 👌 whish gaming was not so divisive, just play games where you prefere and enjoy 🎮

Three reasons to buy an xbox in my opinion

1. Gamepass is a great value for your money and it allows you to rent the games before buying and wirh games being $70 its just a no brainer.

2. Pc is very expensive as someone who has a pc its not capable of running 4k and it would be $300-500 to upgrade the graphics card alone then I need more memory and a 4k monitor to truly experiece 4k gaming with good framerate.

3. Its a pain to build a pc plus you have to deal with the errors and configurations that come with it not to mention its just nice turning on a console, having it work, and playing on a big screen and oh not to mention if you get the disc drive you can find games very cheap on it. These are just some of my reasons.

I still Own/Play on my Xbox One S, getting a series X would just be a big storage device for other games... How much storage can a PS5/6 hold from two different brands.?

I moved away from Series X after owning it since day one.

After 3 years of false promises and non-focus on the hardware, I decided to sell and invest into a solid mid range PC.

Not to mention, PC Gampass is cheaper and better.
Let's not even include superb Steam daily sales.

There is no reason to own Xbox console anymore.

However, you can find a Series S used for like 150$. That's little machine for what it for does and much it costs, is fantastic.

They spent over a decade promising exclusives and as soon as they buy a bunch of publishers and IP and dial it up to 11 they get rid of exclusives. Wild stuff.
