Super Mario Party Jamboree Review

by admin

Super Mario Party Jamboree reviewed by Logan Plant on Nintendo Switch.

Super Mario Party Jamboree is an amazing follow-up to Mario Party Superstars and easily one of the best games in the series. Not only does it faithfully return to the classic formula established in the Nintendo 64 entries, it confidently improves upon it with a fantastic set of boards that introduce unique and memorable mechanics. It’s also the most flexible Mario Party has ever been, with tons of ways to customize your game, including its brilliant new optional Pro Rules that reduce luck-based elements and crank up the strategy for those who want it. The wonderful maps are supported by a great lineup of new and returning minigames and character-specific challenges that steal the show, even if I wish there were just a few more minigames in the rotation. The side offerings may not have much staying power, but when partying with friends and family locally or online, Super Mario Party Jamboree confidently completes the series’ redemption arc as its newest superstar.

Is this better than the regular party game?

@harpatwal1603 February 4, 2025 - 11:03 pm

No mention of paratrooper flight school

@desters30 February 4, 2025 - 11:03 pm

Pro rules forsure, especially since we got money on line sometimes 😂

Finally. I HATED previous Mario Parties because you could destroy everyone in every mini game, and still lose horribly. That's infuriating.

My family and I have been Mario party fans since the first game was released. I’m so excited for my copy to arrive from Amazon. Thank you for this review!

I got this game and have been playing with my friends. It’s really fun and intuitive. The mini games are great as well. Definitely worth a play

@OhNuzzy February 4, 2025 - 11:03 pm

@jayorozco2203 February 4, 2025 - 11:03 pm

serious question for yall!!? need the answer asap cause i am otw to get one of these games… should i get this game, mario kart!??? i cant make my mind up

@evanhightshoe9140 February 4, 2025 - 11:03 pm

Doesn't sound better than All stars. For many reasons.

No character specific dice.
Boring co op game. (Is it even better than the canoe version)
Is there no team game? Or only solo?

Go back to the formula All stars created but improve it.

All i want is an improved All stars with better solo, co op, and team battles. Allow more rules and board creation. Create an online version to play with friends. Let people choose rules, minigames, and ability to go online with sharing players boards.

That would be the ideal way to do mario party… not this…

Where’s the link to the YouTube video that has Wario causing Donkey Kong and Mario to trade all Stars from Chance Time? Sounds funny!

@mintoo2cool February 4, 2025 - 11:03 pm

can you play the game with the pro controller ? or does it have to be the joycons .. like the super mario party ?

@Wolfhammered February 4, 2025 - 11:03 pm

Jamboree is so much fun

@timthomas598 February 4, 2025 - 11:03 pm

Love Mario Party

@n00blord14 February 4, 2025 - 11:03 pm

The only other Mario Party games I have played are 8 on Wii and the DS version, both of which I loved. Highly recommend Jamboree to anyone on the fence about it.

@Sharpester-m4o February 4, 2025 - 11:03 pm

One thing I find rather dumb is the lack of a rage quitter penalty in unranked mode. I had a game that was in the results menu in the Mario Party mode and right before the winner was decided a player ragequit the game leaving the match as a no contest. Which I find rather dumb, since one of the simplest things in many online games is that if you leave you lose.

Thanks, Nathan Fielder!

@katwaugh1686 February 4, 2025 - 11:03 pm

Idk, they need to come back out with a cut throat game. The new games have too much chance.

@Petelind09 February 4, 2025 - 11:03 pm

Any feedback for the Online play with family/friends? Can you play a normal Mario Party board game online like you all were sitting together or are there limitations?
Thanks

@EtronX348 February 4, 2025 - 11:03 pm

This one is my favorite one, combining the others into this great one

Also I like the new UI aesthetic
