if there was ONE game you would happily blow $100+ dollars on, what would it be?
GTA6 for $100 is a huge nothingburger as far as I'm concerned. I paid over $100cad back in 1995 for DKC for the SNES. For people that don't math… That's 30yrs ago! Which wasn't uncommon for some of the high profile games in Canada at the time. Adjusted for inflation that's around $210. Even at the current exchange rate, (assuming that "$100" is usd) would put GTA6 at around $131cad.
I find the fact that this is an issue to some people, extremely hilarious.
If games do reach around $100, then with people buying far fewer games, game companies will have to be A LOT more competitive in what they put out, so it's a double-edged sword, since many companies, even AAA companies not being able to compete due to dumb decisions, and lack of original content.
Everything going up in price. It will hit a point where it all comes crashing down.
I feel a $100 price tag will hurt their launch numbers, but I'll still pay it, because so far the GTA releases have been nothing short of blockbuster. They better deliver the best thing to happen to video games.
I guess I don’t understand why people are complaining about the price of GTA 6 possibly being $100 when people are buying COD at roughly $80 and then having to pay much more for all the additional content which could potentially cost you more than $100+. Those devoted gamers like myself will still buy the game because we support the game developers and the franchise.
I’m 45 years old. Gaming has left me behind. I’ve learn to game on a budget. Sooner or later prices go down or so many free games to chose from. So no thanks.
It’s been years since I spend $60+ on a game, but I wouldn’t hesitate to spend $100 for GTA 6. Everyone is gonna be talking about it and be playing it. There’s no game that makes this sort of impact. Yes I’m a sicko😂
$80 tops.
As much as it sucks to pay more, its naive to expect to pay the same price for a game in perpetuity
I think a big problem with games right now is cost. Games cost more to make, which means producers are likely getting more of a say than they used to to protect the investment. The risk aversion and muting of artistic licence along the monetization are turning consumers away. Add to that there is no such thing as a small game any more. You can't have a developer smash out an experiment that's cheap anymore. It's all AAA and massive price tags. If it's not perfect, it's not selling. If we could stop crucifying any dev that makes a sub 7.5 star review and stop production always demanding the GDP of a small country in revenue… Let's just love games again
If thats the case, then im waiting it out. 60 is my limit. 100 bucks, forget it.
If youre ever at my pizza place then pizza is def on me. Whether its on the road or at home, its nice to pass time with u
💯 👀 🤔 gta vi story 59.99 / deluxe – story 59.99 + gta online 19.99 / ultimate – ?? / collectors – ?? / dreaming – ?? 🧐
Id pay 200
Woow $100 seem high but the only people capable of changing that are the gamers that always have to speak with our wallets, also if the game wasn't created to be a live service game since the beginning as a functional game and not a vending machine, that is a big mistake, thank god sony avoided that big mistake again. Great video Jake.
I haven’t bought a full priced game in like 4 years 😅
The expectation for gta6 is unreal given that the market for gaming is poor rn. They'll turn it around and say it's a experience worth $100 when really it's a game that's been in 10yrs of development hell. I think the price outweighs its value and bet your ass I'm not spending $100 on a gta title, if it's all true ofc
Yeah no thanks. Pass. I don't want to buy a game a quarter of the console it takes to play it on
The funny thing is everybody is saying they won’t buy it, but when it comes out and it is $100 ppl are gonna still buy it. $40 extra for a base game is crazy. It’s bad enough when the “next gen” games come out the GB will be so big we gonna have to buy an external hard drive.
What game can you buy an play more then ten years later an go from ps 3 to ps5 it’s crazy mate no other game makers doing this
For a game like gta they can get away with for like of all these other games that chucking out crap every year or so its not the case gta as we all no is gonna be absolutely amazing they always go bigger an better then everyone else the time they spend on making the game to the tiny little details just look at gta 5 it’s gone through 3 consoles an is still going strong till this day if I can buy a game for a £100 an play it for ten years I really don’t mind
People saying they aren’t going to pay $100 for the base game but every 9 months pay $100 for call of duty for stupid operators and cod points and pointless skins it doesn’t matter the game will sell it’s one of the most anticipated games a lot of people saying no but watch one more info and trailers come out and they hear their friends are getting it the hype is going to be to real and a lot of people are probably going to take days off or even call out sick too much will happen servers are definitely crashing as well for online just how GTA 5 first did
Some games might be worth $100, sure. If there’s 100 hours of main story content, you might justify the cost.
Some games should run about $20 bucks. That applies to games being sold now.
I brought gta 5 probably all up 3 times so yeah I don’t mind paying $100.
Also I’m an Australian so new games are already $100 :/
They don’t even put $100 worth of effort into some of these games I remember as a kid new games were $19.99 then went to $29.99 and now $69.99 I am only 25 by the time I am 35 games will be $199.99 for a glitchy mess 😂😂😂
Games are already 100 bucks in Australia
The Canadian dollar is going in the toilet. So looking at like 150 dollars for this. Nope……nope nope nope!
I think they'll end up selling the story part of the game for 70 bucks, then charge 20 to 30 bucks for online.
The greed of these companies are getting comical at this point.
Interesting that in the future you wil buy a game on 100 bucks and you won't even own it in these modern times. Absurd!
I think variable pricing should become the norm. Personally If I think a game is worth 100 dollars I would have no problem paying that. I don’t like the idea of raising the price of games in a general sense
Last time I bought a game at full price they were 39.99
can't wait for GTA 6 finally releases in 2031 (if not delayed)
I think a god of war live service game would be really cool
I'm dissapointed with PlayStation. I love the games their studios make and it's just sad. I dont really care about the money Sony wasted on live service, that's on them for chasing trend instead of following their players. I care more about the years wasted of development that wont see light of day and is scrapped half way. Days Gone 2 would be here a while ago, instead years have gone by and the studio instead of making their own money have to be on a lifeline from Sony because they havent released a game in over 5 years and will not release one for probably another.. 3? 4…
I all ways wait for the Sales bro why would I pay 40 to 100 pounds or dallars for a game 😂
People buying shark cards day 1. So why raise the price?
