Sounds of the 60’s: the Most Exciting Decade in Music History

by admin

The 1960’s was simply the most exciting decade in music history known to man. The eruption of talent after the discovery of the Mersey Sound, spearheaded of course by the Fab Four, changed the world. Here is 50 minutes of virtually undiluted hits, spread pretty much from when the 60’s started (in late 1962/63 actually) to the end of the decade. And the series reflects what is known as the British invasion, and how the US replied via Motown, the Beach Boys, the Byrds and the Monkees.

Lots of lip syncing, air guitars, but no auto-tunes. Some of the songs are pretty good though.

It's like living at home listening to the radio. List melts away 60 years of unhappy living.
We were free and happy, back then.

@ZOOTSUITBEATNICK1 January 27, 2025 - 1:03 am

As Frank Zappa said, "If it sounds good to you, it's bitchin'; if it sounds bad to you, it's shitty."
In other words, you think "The 1960’s was simply the most exciting decade in music history known to man", but that's just your opinion. Other people likely think otherwise.
Nobody's right or wrong in liking what they like.

……my parents’ gave me a transistor radio for my 13th Birthday. I listened to it when I wasn’t at school, or was studying. Collected ‘Top 40’ Charts’. It was THE best decade of music, the 1960’s………

@stanleyfistick9414 January 27, 2025 - 1:03 am

@patriot4usa January 27, 2025 - 1:03 am

The 60's produced the greatest rock and pop music ever and a lot of it never got the airplay it deserved. A big chunk of that music, many people have never heard and it's great.

To all these negative commentators. Why don't you place your selection on YouTube. You will need 365 days x 24 hours.
