I'm glad you posted this ! John, you are a beast and these are great lifts! But one thing: IT IS 100% OK TO USE STRAPS! USING JUST YOUR HANDS IS DANGEROUS I'm not sure who this trainer is, but as a certified trainer for 20 years, working with IFBB PRO BODYBUILDERS who have WON THE MR. OLYMPIA and ARNOLD CLASSIC as well as powerlifters, there is no reason to ditch the straps in favor of just hands. USE THE STRAPS!! You will build MORE MUSCLE and not have to worry about your hands. You'll be able to lift 540 in no time.
Also, those extended bicep curls off the bench are DANGEROUS for your Bicep tendon and unnecessary. Do them standing, one arm at a time. You'll tear your bicep if you keep doing those like that, trust me. That trainer should know better.
I don't understand why people train pulling w/ lifting straps then work their grip separately? The goal of strength training is to make it harder, get stronger, not easier and weaker. Any external aid; i.e. lifting straps, belts, bench shirt, squat suit, sling shot etc…takes load away makes it easier.
Hook grip those deadlifts John.
Try doing timed hangs on the chin up bars🏆

Is it me or is John always very critical of his performance. He has radical candor towards himself but in a way where he knows it a point of improvement not of punishment. He wins each day in inches and understands what he needs to do to win again the next day. 🤜🏻🤛🏻

Every workout perfect form and done slow is how you maximize your workout and stay stronger than most he’s doing it how everybody should workout , except for triceps pull down extension I would step back 1-2 feet bend straight and pull down that’s the best way to do that workout with that machine
