I'm really enjoying the devlogs. Keep them coming. I think your art is too "clean" as if nothing is "lived in/used." This breaks immersion a bit, as if the game is part of film set as opposed to a real location. Add a few broken bricks to the walls, broken/deformed planks to the floor, a coffee stain on the machine...etc You can take a look at Stardew Valley, the main house has broken planks, the roof has rust... There's another dev called Pixel Architect who does great pixel art.

Another Youtuber who does video essays called Curious Archive has a video called The Most Powerful Type of Worldbuilding. It talked about how worldbuilding can be achieved through essentially showing that the location/setting is not new (by adding mold and decay). Best of luck. Keep up the good work.
