The Dark Age had tech so advance we even surpassed the Necrons, and they have a map that can destroy the galaxy. What kinda stuff did we have
@NurseAmamiya January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
Yeah, I'd rather live pre DAOT, or during it. Looked more interesting than the current 40k setting.

I have a strange feeling that the lasgun in the dark age of technology was just a civilian weapon and not intended for military use. It would be like getting a bunch of people with ar-15 to go against the American military.

@maxamps45 January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
does the existence of Dark Glass means DAOT Mankind knew about psykers in 30th Millenium?
@jamesm.5125 January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
I don't understand how there isn't a pocket of DAOT tech humanity still out there. Even with the war against the machines, not all advanced AI would have rebelled, that would make it less than advanced AI.
@drgonzo305 January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
That drawing of Targutai Yesugei get being consumed by the dark glass throne hits me in the feels. That was hard death to take
@Shoutatclouds January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
I like to think that there was jo "fall" humanity basically is running a what if simulation that is the local galactic cluster.

If you look at the technological capabilities of the Great Crusade Imperium and notice that it defeated Dark Age level civilizations without actually needing overwhelming numbers, we come to an interesting conundrum. You see, the thing is that the Men of Iron and the few examples of Dark Age ships appearing in a few stories are all drastically more advanced and powerful than anything those civilizations had. Canonically, time itself was broken and turned into "layers" of reality by the opening of the Eye of Terror. This is the reason given by Games Workshop to explain its statement that everything is canon, even when contradictory. This brings us to a very unsettling possibility. The possibility that the Dark Age of Technology wasn't more advanced than the Imperium to a point that actually matters. And from there, that those ships that have appeared (Slaughtersong as well as that one who was boarded by Marines and even the Arks Mechanicus) as well as the Men of Iron might not be from the Dark Age. They might be from the future. In which case, the Iron War might not have happened yet and the Imperium's treatment of the Machine Spirits of AI, robots, Knights, Titans, etc. might be the true cause of the war in the future and that since time was broken, humanity has memories and records of events that haven't happened. Becoming self-fulfilling.

And doesn't that sound like the most 40K thing ever?
@Omni-Man January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
Humanity was so Dominat for around 5000 Years that they essentially FORCED the Eldar and Orks (who were more advanced at the time) into peace pacts. The Orks, who exist to fight and enjoy war, the harder the better, were so done losing to Humanity, they purpose made Ork Ambassadors just to go and meet with Humanity and accept the Peace Agreement. Insane.

The Primarchs did not exist at this time, thus it IS Malacador's Phychic Blocks that prevent any of them remembering him. Horus seemed to remember his name, but Malcador threatened to kill him if he so much as uttered it. Rogal Dorn demanded Malcador remove the Block, claiming he never would have allowed it in the first place. He began crying and then made Malcador reinstate the mental Block. This happened in the roughly 300 year period of the Great Crusade, thousands of years after they had guns that erades your existence.
@Necroxion January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
What do you mean the Speranza operates on D4C principles?!
@daviddestin1990 January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
Oil in WH40k is called (unrefined) promethium.
@RezTheKing January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
Yall think its possible that the Emperor turned A.I against humanity I mean it was never said what happen.
@theodorebear6714 January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
That's what humanity should be.
Weapons that can erase our enemies completely and paradise worlds for those who are worthy.
The way I see humanity- humans should not have to fight but instead judge our enemies then condemn them to damnation or grant them the mercy to survive and improve.
I hate people who think the human suffeirng and war of 41k is cool.
41k is supposed to be a dark parody of a human future.
The spirit of eternity was right.
@redeye3869 January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
My favorite Dark Age tech has to be the Bolos. FOR THE HONOR OF THE REGIMENT!
@kekero540 January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
Humanity legit made the Hollow Purple machine gun.
@andrew3203 January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
During the Golden Age, science was mostly focused on the material side, including AI, energy and genetic sciences, but less interested in the Warp and the dangers of it. This was partly because the Warp was far calmer and the very few psykers able to access it, plus the Emperor's shadowy influence that regularly erased all knowledge of psychic powers.

As things came to an end around 25000 AD, (with the mass suicide of the Eldar) the Federation had a few breakthroughs into Warp tech, including Void shields, Navigator Genes and Warp engines, which were later used by humanity to travel the galaxy. It was too late for the Federation, and only a few techs survived from the Golden Age via STCs and the occasional Perpetual.

It is a bit funny that the Corporate Mining AIs (now called Votanns) deployed to the Galactic Core by their (greedy) shareholders survived and even thrived from the lack of oversight and taxes, even creating their own labour caste (the squats) to slave and mine more minerals for them. It is less funny for the populated worlds or ships dismantled by the Votannic stelar mining engines (with the natives still on them). I mean profit at any cost is a dangerous directive to assign to an AI...right? On the other hand, the occasional Tyranid Hive Fleet sometimes gets caught and dismantled for biomass as well. The Votann AIs will not throw away such a nice free resource bonus.
@DanteMac26 January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
Man, I really miss vortex grenades.
@molybdaen11 January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
I like the story of a ship being good friend with its captain and hating everyone who spit on his ideals.
Like a loyal dog - from the far future.

@nfldend501 January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
ok im subbed. It would be cool the Custodian and the guys from Mars who are looking for a way tobbring emporer back also finds the lost Primarch or the Lost Primarch is a copy of the Emporer hidden away awaiting for the time he was called upon. The Emporer planned out all these events but never imployed a back up plan if something like the horus heracy happened. I get him being so into himself that he didnt think he needed or wanted another him running around but a blank copy for a hard reboot seems like an easy fix
@lordmortos979 January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
Wat is mehanicus bo?!
@afryanmahendra2055 January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
You forgot one thing. In Speranze, it was clearly shown that the ship recorded much of DAoT tech, one of which is a horizon machine that capable manipulating and erasing space-time on solar system scale.
@neonnsteel January 20, 2025 - 12:13 am
A bit of lore and history from an actual wampyr. What a time to be alive
