Due to comments about GM touching the object, I've watched it again and again. It's stone with a gold stem. Then he touches the enamel flowers. They are not overly fragile either, and he carefully touches them. Twice. Risk of damage? Close to zero. It's a jobsworth mentality that dictates once an object is a certain value, it's more than my job's worth to touch it.

Note he does not pick the object up, and we don't see who takes it out of the case, so maybe he's showing how risk averse he is to handling it there. He knows what he's doing, and so many commenters think they know better than him. They don't.

The piece was sold for £3.8m at Christie's in 2019

As lovely as the jewels are they spell oppression to the poor upon whose backs Europe's rulers
Amassed their wealth. Inflicting endless wars with THEIR FAMILIES to keep the poor oppressed.
Elites are as elites do.

Exquisite workmanship. No longer occupied with making eggs for the Russian royal family, Faberge imitates nature.

That was made in 1903! Holy crap! I can't believe that the dutchess spent so much $ on soldiers. How wonderful. And Bravo to Faberge-what a brilliant piece(s).!

Nice to see Stamford Cartwright, the conservator, again after 66years. ' Knew him as a young chorister at St James' Church, Wollaston then. He always had a cheeky grin and a good sense oh humour.

The weirdest thing has just happened to me. This was in the back ground on a tv series called 3 body program. I had only watched this YouTube video and hour or so earlier then Episode 5 “judgement day” at the time 14:00 it’s there…..how is this possible, out of all the videos in the world, this so happened to be playing in the background. Has baffled me
@maverickwatchreviews January 19, 2025 - 6:25 am
