It's 2025. Valve's alive and doing things. Now it's Garry & Facepunch's turn to do things...hopefully releasing s&box this year. Let me know how you're feeling about the game going into 2025 below!

S&box will be a great spiritual succesor to roblox. But roblox is still going strong so...i dont know why would you play this game when you have roblox or gmod.

I only got into the open beta a couple months ago and it really wasn't what i expected. Seems like a place for a couple people to drop their 30 second ideas and leave without finishing them. But then i look on the steam community and theres screenshots from two years ago with interesting things and game modes that just dont seem to exist anywhere anymore. Truly wish it was something cooler or had devs on it again. I see the potential, just dont know if it will be realized in time.

I dream source 2 sdk comes out and someone just makes a janky sandbox game with alyx (or cs2's ) assets and we get us a new iteration of garrysmod.

In 2021 2022 The game looked amazing and it was almost looks like gmod but better, now idk if the game is going to be better than gmod tbh.

meh im skeptical to this game, it looks like everything and nothing im sure that it gonna find some players but not as many as gmod at its prime, this looks like roblox for older players... JUST GIVE ME GMOD ON SOURCE 2 ) :

I don't trust what Garry Neuman says.

Remember, during the fiasco with Nintendo and the claims of them demanding takedowns of Garry's mod of nintendo content (Even for things that WEREN'T Nintendo content), Garry Neuman claimed that both him and Facepunch were asked by someone claiming to be a Nintendo Lawyer for the take down of the content, and he authorized it according to his tweets.

As you have just all but outright explained here, Facepunch Studios AND Garry Neuman do NOT have Authority to say what can or cannot be on the Gmod Workshop. They do not have any holding over the Garry's Mod IP ever since they left to create S&box... So why would Nintendo ask for someone who has no authority over Garry's Mod to give them power to ruin everyone's fun? They would ask for the ACTUAL company that owns the Garry's Mod IP, which is VALVE, not Facepunch and Garry Neuman.

It does not help that Garry Neuman used the chaos he basically caused to try and promote S&Box... And basically told everyone who questioned the legitimacy of the so-called "Nintendo Lawyer" to shut up.

This does not give me hope for S&Box.

20$ Please.
No more hackers to constantly swap the game.
Or at least make a 20$ "Premium" edition, which unlocks all cosmetics & stuff.
And an option to limit servers to only "Premium" users.
I don't want my servers to be swamped with hackers.
