Oh, they should totally put this out to $350 !!! maybe have a three month special All seriesX $350 at pre-order only !!! after first of March. It goes back to regular price.

Both Standard Units PS5 and Xbox Series X shouldn't be a dime over 349.99 right now. PS5 Digital should be under $300 and the Xbox Series S standard should be no more than $200. PS5 Pro shouldn't cost more than $550 and even then it's not worth that price. If it's about selling subscriptions then the cost of the consoles should be cheaper. I don't care the tech that inside the units, it's not worth comparing the cost to a 3070. It's not the same market. The issue is AMD has them both by the balls and as long as they can't negotiate better pricing they will remain high. Competition within the tech of the consoles themselves doesn't exist. AMD wins either way.

Yet a top of the line ps5 PRO that should automatically come with all bells and whistles has

No disc drive
No stand
No high end controller
Only one color choice

But $699? 😂 At the BARE minimum it should include one of the features/options I listed for its price.

No one pays top dollar for a top tier trim car model to get just bare minimum features or performance. They expect all . Moonroof ,leather , heated seats , most powerful engine variant etc. same concept.

Il stick with my xbox one and 360, no need to upgrade at that price, i have too many good games on disc so the series s is useless. Theres a reason why the xbox series is selling less than even the xbox one, the price!

Wala own all the concerts and clean the PS5 Pro Mission fact is very overpriced, people cannot actually think consoles are going to drop yes they still have temporary sales here and there and when consoles age show get cheaper for a different time. Here comes a simple fact about the future on electronics the price is going to go up in the United States when tariffs go into effect and it is going to affect other prices globally. An example of this estimated a console the console to 6:25 2700 depending on the level of the tariffs

Look ward on the street the tariffs our not gonna be a problem at all. It’s all part of negotiations. It’s not like the new president can flat out say he’s bluffing or else there not gonna fold into giving us a better deal. It’s just apart of business. Open your mind eyes and mind. Remember
Our new president is a business man he knows exactly what he’s doing. For example a country may charge us 80% we only charge them 50%
But now were gonna raise there tariffs to 300% the other Is not gonna like that because now they can’t make money so now there gonna lower our tariffs to 30% and now will bring our tariffs down to a reasonable 60% or so. Boom now things our cheaper on our end. That’s ow we negotiate our way into a better economy.

they’re not gonna price drop it. they don’t want you to buy it but sign up for gamepass on something other than their hardware. it’s all money with very minimal effort in mfg

The mismanagement of Xbox continues. I remember last holiday it was possible to buy a new Series X with a disc drive for $399 maybe even $380 if you were really on it. This Holiday season it went up to $599 and the disc-less version is $499. 🤣🤣🤣

They need to reduce the price of the all digital series x. There is little to no price difference in the UK between the two Xbox models, yet the PS5 equivalents can be as much as £100 apart.

prices will increase further in 2025 due to increase in tariffs. All these are coming from china and with inflation at peak, prices will keep going up further. And to add to it, the demand is also still good. its out of stock everywhere. if everything rises, this as well. The culprit are the people who are buying in spite of rising prices. All Businessmen's and corporates have become greedy in recent times.

Nah, they aren't making money on consoles. They're just pushing streaming and Game Pass everywhere they can. They're not going to take the hit on consoles at this point. It makes zero sense to do that now.

I bought a Series S that came bundled with Fortnite, Rocket League, and 3 months of Game Pass Ultimate for the full price ($299) back in 2021, then bought a refurbished Series X on Black Friday 2023 for around $379- came out to just over $400 with tax. I thought the latter was a steal, especially considering the condition it was in: practically brand new.

Destin has brain fog on this subject. Lowering the price will increase sales. The dollar is strong so components should be cheaper plus the components are cheaper because they are older. Manufacturing changes should be making each console cheaper to make. A strong dollar will decrease sales in other countries but Microsoft can adjust the sales price. There is a demand there. Microsoft and the “pundits” bemoan the future of gaming consoles but won’t drop the price as in past console generations.

For the amount of years Ryan has worked in the games business, you’d think he’d know more about how the companies typically function at sales with “loss leaders.”
Almost all sell consoles at a loss because they can make it up on software, except Nintendo who sells their consoles a generation behind at a profit.
Tariffs will be a huge problem for the games industry if they go through.

The one thing Destin failed to take into account is that the manufacturing cost of consoles goes down as the generation progresses due to components falling in price and more cost-effective processes.

I dont remember actually paying $500 for Series X at Walmart...the warranty was thrown in, a must for game consoles. It was like 460 or something, and the warranty and sales tax is what put it over 500.

Gamestop was gonna absolutely strongarm me out of 600+, console & warranty 😂...so I decided to price check, and go to the Walmart attached to the mall 😂
