The Crimson Tide are battling to maintain their roster as many players debate entering the transfer portal. This weekend they got some excellent news on the defensive side of the ball. Mick looks at the latest news over the weekend in Tuscaloosa.

Host Mick Gillispie is a graduate of the University of Alabama. His first Tailgate radio show was on 90.7 WVUA radio in 1998 the Bama campus radio station. Since then Mick has been a Play-by-Play voice for the Crimson Tide Sports Network on radio. Broadcasted TV games at Alabama on SEC Network. He was a show co-host of The Game with Ryan Fowler on WTBC radio and then Tide 102.9 in Tuscaloosa. Mick also hosted Alabama football Pre/Post Game shows on the Alabama Football Flagship affiliate with former All-American Mike Johnson. Keenan coming back isn't huge. He needs to lose weight, get more agile, and get better with his hands to shed blocks. He's a 2 gap guy in a 1 gap defense.

Players transfer for more playing time. They want to play be out in 3 years.Look where alot are transferring to.I think we are filling our needs. 9 months is a long time.

It doesn't matter who Alabama let go he's just an escape goat the one that need to let go of the coach you don't understand Alabama tradition you don't understand the SEC tradition and all he's going to do is break years and years of tradition by losing the teams is not worthy to beat them because of poor coaching

Line of scrimmage play has been inconsistent for several years. The scheme change, 2 gap vs 1 gap, for the DL/LB was challenging overall. The D improved as the season progressed. Run stop and tackles for loss needs to improve. A lot of the pieces are returning on D. I’m looking forward to seeing more sacks in 2025.

You know Mick, if Milroe, Moore, and Law had played for 2012 Nick Saban they’d have been on the bench for their lack of consistency and leadership.
For prime Saban leadership was doing your job right, and if you weren’t doing it right you wouldn’t be out there, that’s the standard that went out the window
