What if SONY Made a PLATFORM FIGHTING GAME?

They should add Wukong, Miles Morales, venom, Max Hollaway(UFC), and Hatsune Miku (Trust it’s a banger)

The problem is that the monopoly smash bros has is only getting stronger with each entry.

I mean smash ultimate has countless players from accross all platforms in gaming. The only thing that could top what theyve done is if the roster starts getting characters from different media.

For example, goku finally joining smash.

Anyways, because of the monopoly any platform fighter would immediatly get compared to smash. And it doesnt help that when a platform fighter does get released. Its honestly half assed. Not a full effort that couldve rivaled smash.

I will argue that playstation all stars is still the closest thing to actually have some effort put into it. I wont say its near the quality of smash but probably the one with most potential.

Then there was nick all stars which had potential as well but nickelodeon didnt give proper funding. And the game is still somewhat fun.

Then finally the one that actually looked like it could rival but they botched the landing horribly. Multiversus. They had the best roster potential with random characters from warners history. But that was ao horribly destroyed with microtransactions

Imagine if SpiderMan PS4 was in it too! Must buy

Ok some ideas for DLC fighters since there are 6 remaining roster slots.
1. Venom from Spider-Man 2 since it could give us some more variety and wouldn’t be as expected as miles
2. Joel as an echo fighter for Ellie
3. Freya from GOWR could give some variety
4. Carmelita From Sly cooper acting sort of like Fox from Star fox in terms of moveset
5. Rivet from Rachet and Clank Rift Apart as an echo Fighter
6. Coco From Crash Bandicoot as more of a techy zoned character

I've always thought that smash bros like games miss items system in their gameplay. Despite smash bros i've never played a smash bros like games with that system although it's like 50% of the fun ! It adds something on the gameplay AND of the immersion inside the universe.

Um crash and Spyro is Activision blizzard so Microsoft smash bros yes but not this!? ( they don’t have limited ip!)

And for media I think paramount smash bros would be something

I can't believe how many big companies have tried and failed to make a successful platform fighter. Either by underfunding and under supporting their developers (Nickelodeon. Twice), putting so many micro transactions and grindy mechanics to try to get people to pay (WB) or having half the roster be lackluster characters with several missing fan favorites and having a slog of a combat system and finishers system (Sony).

To make it even more unique, they could implement the Injustice 2 Stage mechanic. Basically, instead of having one stage, you have multiple stages that can only be accesed if a character breaks the side of the stage (like a wall). it then proceeds to the next stage and so on. Overall, it makes the stages more interesting, because the stages are bigger and will actually change game mechanics (like Hazards) Mid game. The only negative side about that is that it would require a health system instead of a ejection percentage. Also, Injustice was made as a 1V1 format, not an 8 player versus, so that's also another problem. if Sony could make it work tho, it could be a big upgrade from Smash Bros.

I’m not gonna lie I wouldn’t buy it. You forgot final fantasy, devil may cry, god of war. You can even add street fighter tekken ETC cause smash does crossovers and they have characters that are not exclusive Nintendo characters. Could’ve made a WAAAAAAAYY better list.

I'd forego Kat for classic Lara Croft. Sure, she's technically never been exclusive to PlayStation. But there was hardly a PS1 commercial without her. Also, Tekken has a solid decade with Sony, so they deserve a representative. My vote goes to Yoshimitsu.
