Reminder: the whole physical vs. digital percent thing is basically gaslighting. It's not a comparison on a game by game basis, it's just covering every game (and a lot of the time includes PC and mobile too to skew it heavier.) All you literally have to do is look at the Sony leak to see most of their first party games are more like 70/30 in favor of physical. It took a global pandemic + shutdown to even reach 50/50 for the case of Ghost of Tsushima.
Going wait to see what series x replacement and eco system is like. But definitely thinking of jumping to PlayStation as Xbox has wrong leadership in place and keep doing wrong thing.
The perception of Xbox is mess to hardcore gaming for forbid what 9-5 with kids must think what point of Xbox now as all Xbox games are coming to PlayStation in time. It win win for Sony.
The problem for MS is valve is a private company and doesn’t need to prioritize shareholders over gamers , so Steam will always be better.

Built a PC in 2017 and never looked back. Never buying an Xbox… damn near every console exclusive is on PC, I’m not missing out on anything. lol

With the Heroic app on Steam Deck, I can bring my Epic and GOG library just by clicking install. I’ll keep my series S and my X to play my old Xbox games, but I’ll be playing on Steam and PC from now on.

you have to be drowning in nostalgia if you think Xbox would continue in the way we knew them. What reason should they? There’s no money for them in making consoles and exclusives. I think they’ll continue to do that, but it was never going to be the main business focus. Now it’s all about getting gamepass on as many devices as possible. It’s time to accept that it’s over. There’s not a timeline where Halo makes a comeback and we relive the 360 days with the newest greatest console. I’ve been saying it for years… soon you’ll be buying a streaming stick + xbox controller combo at target for $100 instead of a console, or in reality as time has gone on it’ll just be an app on your smart TV
Bruh Microsoft couldn’t even get Halo right, and millions of fans gather online for over a decade explaining what they want. They never get it. Not exciting thinking about Xbox and Microsoft when they have zero interest getting their own ducks in a row, especially when it is objectively simple yet they actively decide to complicate it.
Then there's Valve, no shareholders to answer to, and their big story IPs aren't getting dragged and milked for nothing. Gabe literally going on record saying they'll only do Half Life if it's exactly what the fans deserve to get pitched to them. Easy to choose the company to invest my time and money on lol
well to be fair, not really much choices in physical copies and the digitals are releasing much earlier. so it would make sense that digital purchasing is higher… downside is in some instances digital cant stay forever or could be lost if the store no longer supports it and we have seen that. I think that is my pet peeve with owning digital. getting that out of the way of course all my games I do play considered Xbox are on my PC and has worked out great, no longer need an Xbox just use my PC or as you mentioned using the handheld.

its fine xbox going full 3rd party but people need to understand that calling your tv an xbox simply tells consumers that you do not need an xbox at all. They are still yet to have consistent high quality games released and they taught their fans not to buy or support games by pushing GP. They dont report active users so there is no way to know how it does at all. Exclusives makes your device stand out and have a real identity, Nintendo and PS wont follow suit and shouldnt.
If Xbox lets you play Steam Games, why would you ever buy a xbox game again when you could buy steam version?
