If you're a musician/songwriter you know most of this is just bullshit brought up by people having their ego hurt. In most cases it should be seen as a compliment unless the entire song is basically copied and pasted.

I'd just like to say the music writing process and the way most musicians handle it almost sets itself up for "copying" certain bits of other artists' music. There's a reason it happens so often and it's not as much people copying other people as it is notes sounding good with other notes. When you write a chorus you want it to be catchy, for it to be catchy the notes have to progress well together, and certain notes progress better together than others, leading to multiple artists having eerily similar ideas, not because someone had a good idea and someone else wanted to cash in, but because when each artist was writing they came to the same decision on note progression. It's incredibly easy to do and not even know or realize what you've written sounds just like what someone else did. That doesn't excuse people who blatantly rip off someone else's work, but more often than not it's by complete accident.

This is a TERRIBLE video!

The worst thing is the constant "Yap, yap, yap" of the narration. And showing the songs in the wrong order - 'copy' before original - makes no sense.

I just watched a similar video you guys did and both forgot “I’ll Be Missing You” by Puff Daddy ripping off “I’ll Be Watching You” by The Police.
