Die Hard | PC Engine | Weird Game Licenses

by admin

Sometimes the license itself makes all the sense in the world, but the game itself completely misses the point and goes off on one.

Pack-In Video, the team behind the excellent NES Die Hard, also programmed the PC Engine version, which could not be more different.

I remember in the early 2000s there was a Die Hard video game for PC, Gamecube, Xbox, and PS2. It was a direct adaptation of the first movie, but the funniest thing is that the only actor from the movie they could get to voice in the game was Reginald ValJohnson, reprising his role as Al Powell. They really milked his appearance, too, straight up putting his face on the game's box as if he was the main character.

This is tremendous. What a bag of wank. I had the die hard trilogy on my PS1.
It was a launch title. You'd think I was snorting Shake and Vac on this because I can't find proof.
But the other launch was FIFA. And I love FIFA but it was horse shit.
Thanks for this.
I can now afford all these consoles but now my day is stuck complaining about my back and job.
At least I enjoyed this.

You obviously haven't seen the directors cut of die hard.

Are you trying to tell me that you don't remember the jungle and swamp of the first act or that the FBI chopper was the true antagonist 🤷‍♂️🤣

John McLane was not an ordinary beat cop. His character was an ex marine, makeup artists went to the trouble of painting a tattoo on his left arm from the writers character bio to indicate why he is so skilled. You would know this if you were heterosexual like me.

Best Christmas movie

Just finished watching the film.

I do wonder if this game was originally supposed to be something else and was repackaged once they got the licence

I own quite a lot of PC Engine games, but I don't think I've seen this one before. I probably didn't bother with it because of the poor reviews. I enjoyed watching your review of it though. I quite like the films. I didn't know until a few years ago that some people class the first one as a Christmas film.

I hope the people whose decision it was to make the levels so wildly different from the content of the film spend many, many, hours of their lives laying in bed at night trying to sleep, their eyes wide open and brain racing, mulling over the impact of their their actions.
