I think you got a bit too caught up in that Ado is a "cover-singer" 😊
She started out in her early teens doing covers of vocaloid songs that she uploaded to NicoNico. Tho, from her professional debut in 2020, she does everything. She has released two full albums with original songs, one album with cover songs, and one OST (for the One Pice film RED), a long with a huge number of different single releases: Originals, collaborations and covers. It is true that most of her originals is written for her, but that doesn't make them covers.

Ado has chosen to embrace her early identity as a "Utaite" as you say. That means predominantly only one thing: That she want to still identify with those cover-artists that are recording their covers in their bedrooms and uploading them to the internet with the faint hope that they too will gain some recognition one day. This fact is generating a lot of attention to the vocaloid community (or even "sub culture" if you wish). Vocaloid music was, and still is, very dear to Ado, and she has also expressed in interviews that she want to collaborate with as many of the big vocaloid producers as she can to bring vocaloid music to a greater audience.

Ado was pretty controversial in Japan when she debuted, thanks to the counter culture lyrics of Usseewa. The older generation did not appreciate the criticisms of Japanese society and social norms, while the younger generation saw her as their voice. (You know, the classic rock and roll music story.)

I think that's mainly what this song is referencing. Most of her music since then has steered away from being anywhere near that counter culture, so I don't think she has the same reputation anymore, apart from those who still identify her through Usseewa. I'm sure there are those that don't like her for not showing her face, or the usual hate for being popular, but none of that really compares to that early controversy.

this is one of my favorite ado songs it was written as an original song for her by a producer called PinocchioP who is also one of my favorite vocaloid producers, he tends to write bright upbeat sounding song with fairly cynical/realist lyrics.

This is an original piece written for Ado.
There was no prior discussion about the content of the song, but when she heard the finished song, she herself was surprised and said, “That's me!
