Lena pH is one Swedens best female singers in my oppinion. Just like Marie Fredriksson was . I just hope that she paints the songs her own way, but with in the frame. ❤

i think it's amazing that Per chose Lena, because she, just like Marie, is a very popular single artist in Sweden. Marie never lost her popularity in Sweden as a single artist, and Lena is a very well established artist in Sweden since the 80s.

Personaly I think the international sucess is mostly bcause of ABBA, success breeds success. Ofc it's also helped we were good at english, unaffected by ww2, have cheap communal music school. I think our glorydays are over however. .Unless a new Max Martin or Benny Andersson steps forward soon

Lena PH is far from a rookie...on the contrary she´s a fullblood professional and one of Swedens most recognized artists. However she´s never ventured into the sharkinfested waters of the global music scene, hence why she might come across as a little insecure. If anyone should ever attempt to fill Maries shoes Lena is a great contender...period! :)

I gather it’s Kommunala Musikskolan - a free music program outside of school - that encourages young people to not only dream of a music career, but also start learning toward one, in a systematic way.

Tip of the iceberg. Sweden's impact on metal, especially extreme metal, has been massive. Might seem like a niche market but metal festivals in Europe just keep getting bigger every year.
