Today, we are going to check and test out Eufy’s latest Smart Lock Touch & WIFI. Eufy started selling their smart locks last year and their first version only has Bluetooth and no WIFI integration. This new smart lock model that they have has a built in WIFI and doesn’t need a separate WIFI bridge or module and it also has a removeable and rechargeable 10,000 mAh battery pack that can last up to 1 year before needing to be recharged. So, they ticked off a lot of boxes as to features that users want on this latest iteration of their smart lock.
You will have multiple ways to lock and unlock your doors with this smart lock.
1. Fingerprint – one of the fastest if not the fastest fingerprint lock in the market today.
2. App using WIFI – you can access your smart lock from anywhere as long as your phone is connected to the internet.
3. App using Bluetooth
4. Passcode – Type in your passcode and has a scrambling feature
5. Voice Assistants – Lock and Unlock your door using your voice through Amazon Alexa or Google Home
6. Traditional Keys
There are a couple of things that Eufy could have added or made better but overall especially the fingerprint option, this is a pretty good smart lock.

@LifeHackster Yes the one touch sucks. To close the door without it you'll need to enter your code which is more odd. I guess they are trying to accidentally lock you out.
got one unit myself but it doesn't always auto lock especially when we manually unlock it from inside. No issue if we unlock or lock from outside – the autolock will still work. I see that many people has the same issue with this model. reported to EUFY support …
Great review, can you provide some clarity between this S230 and the C220, which one is the newerbetter model?
Wish they added a sensor to know whether the door is in a closed position. The “geomagnetic sensor” something and calibration does not work. Meaning the deadbolt will lock even if the door is open as per settting, and if it will hit the door frame if someone accidentaly try to close it.
How does the lock fit?
Is the indoor unit also ip65 rated?
can I use this without ever connecting it to wifi?
I have a new one of these and it says it needs the battery charged! How do I do that! I plugged it up to charge like I did before installing but it won’t charge! What to do?
How many codes? We can set up
Ive been using yale zwave for the paaat 6-7 years… but my yale screen is pretty beat up after so many years. And unlocking the yale zwave from remote is laggy.. sometime im not even sure it it unlocked.. the interface app is not accurate.. in other words , im looking for a replacement to my old yale.. now yale offer two version, the wifi version or the iphone version.. they both interesting,, but i wish they would have both.. bescauss i do use iphone and applewatch and my wife use iphone. But i do not wish to take my iphone everytime i need to open or close the door.. i know you can set the distance … but still… what if someone steal my iphone? Does it mean that whoever who has my iphone dan get in? So it comes down to wifi version.. but there is something i really need more than anything.. i don't want to hit any key numbers i front of any guess. So i need a finger print scan.. or like you are showing.l a serie of different numbers before and after the true code, So the eufy seems a better choice except one thing… i don't want to spend that long to lock the door.. holding the keypad 2-3 seconds is fsr too long.l it should be quicker than that. So i really don't know which to buy.. eufy or yale
Great video. I'm sold!
Hey do you have any idea if this smart lock will fit on an 80mm thick door?😅 because per Eufy customer service and their specifications sheet, it will only fit on the standard 2 1/8” doors. But I asked their AI chat support and it answered that it should have no problem with 80mm thick door. I’ve been looking online for any one who’s tried it but have had no luck so far. Would greatly appreciate it if you can answer my questions🙏🏼
does it have a sensor to see if the door is slightly open ? (Like Yale does ? )
@LifeHackster
Is it possible to turn off the internal knob, to only allow restricted exit via the app
i notice they have two different s230 smart lock model, whats the difference?
Think I'll pass on this one, seeing as out of all the ways to unlock it the fastest is to use a bump key and a hammer…
Pardon my ignorance on the scramble lock combination, the only feature i know of the scramble lock is the keypad scrambles the numbers, im not sure how it workes here since the numbers are already printed. I hope i was able to explain myself clearly.
I recently upgraded my home with all the appliances of Eufy products. Am honestly surprised that once my warranty was over my EUFY SECURITY SMART LOCK TOUCH stop working. Called customer support to complain that the Bluetooth connection was not connected to my phone device. They could not help
since my warranty plan was not renewed. They note that if I could send my product in exchange for 15% for the next purchase. Am extremely disappointed in this product. For some reasons even the keypad doesn’t recognize my password after calling customer service since they ask me to reset the device. Instead of fixing the Bluetooth issues they simply made the default settings to not being able to access my own home. Seems like a scam into purchasing a new device. Don’t Buy this Product
Front door bell. Easy to install.
The fingerprint part seems a bit daft given that your fingerprints are probably all over the place for harvesting… but am tempted.
Why not the standard usb-c vs micro usb
Is this homekit compatible?
How long time does the battery work and if I disconnect the battery to charge it, should I set up the app options again?
My auto lock doesn’t work and I’m not sure why. Everything else works perfectly fine but the auto lock just doesn’t work, no matter what time I set it as.
Can u still see the activity of the lock with out Wifi
If it runs out of power, do I need to use a power bank to open it? Or can I just use the key??
