I still buy more PlayStation 2 games than modern games, and I’ll never stop playing PS2 games like it’s 2004. The games were made to provide the most value to me, as a player, rather than making ME the product. There’s still years and years’ worth of fun left in this console’s massive library, and I’m never giving it up.

my son plays almost exclusively older games. with the ps3 being the newest console he plays. he loves the genesis and ps1 and it is so awesome to see the unbiasedness of a child show me that old games are still relevant and fun.

Absolutely agree with everything stated in this video and I too, am a big fan of the PS2 despite the fact that it is the one console I do not have one out right now...

As we get older, one loses interest about certain things and we tend to look back for better times. Simply, our joyful experience makes us think that, certainly ps2 was the pinnacle of videogames, but it is also how the pay-to-play it is nowadays, not owning the physical game… it is just not that cool anymore

Many games are incredibly better than recent releases to me tekken 4 and 5 are phenomenal experiences compared to 7 and 8
and many games released back then were graphically better than the PC versions like
GTA vice city and resident evil 4 the ps2 made a timeless permanent mark in the gaming world that offers a one of a kind experience and opens a unique world of gaming to anyone who is ready to explore

I still collect heavily for modern consoles. I am approaching 300 physical Ps5 games but I have to say, this video is 100% accurate to my feelings these days. If not for these Limited Print-style companies, it would be even more tragic. Ps2 and below were the best of gaming and I am still growing my Ps2 collection as well. 400 and counting.

Is it worth buying games for ps2 online, I never done it, I like to see the quality of the disc in person before I make my purchase

The ps2 and all consoles from the gen and past are always going to be infinitely more fun to collect for specifically because that disc in that case IS the entire game. You throw the disc or cartridge in your console and.... that's just the game. No patches, no installing the game, no downloading 90% of the game while barely any of it is actually on the disc, etc.

Been recently diving into the ps1 and ps2 as I had these consoles as a kid but didnt have many games and going back to play many I always wanted to or discovered recently.

The one downside to these generations is that there isn't those totally immersive experiences like Fallout, the witcher, or red dead redemption which are some of my all time favorites.

I’ve completely lost interest in modern gaming. My PS5 is a glorified YouTube machine and my Xbox Series X is a dust gatherer. I play my ps2 every day and buy games for it nearly every week.
