Unfortunately, there way too many shallow fair-weather fans who are overreacting to Caitlin Clark's words. Words are conversation...something that just comes out of one's mouth, whereas actions take commitment and conviction and establish trust and credibility...the old idiom of actions being louder than words. I've delivered talks that didn't mirror my heart...but I still made them because I THOUGHT they were the correct things to say at that time with the given audience and situation. All of you who are cheaply turning your backs on Caitlin merely for the words she spoke...and totally ignore the actions of the player you watched for four seasons in college and one in the W, I submit were never true fans to begin with. I cannot understand all the emotional hysteria over the words "my truth" because she said it in the same breath that she was comfortable in her skin and wanted to make perfectly clear that everything she got she earned herself. Hoo boy, this is a 22 year-old that was racially tormented the whole season....maybe, just maybe, she just wants to show up to work without people hating her, and this was, perhaps misguided, her way to make some peace. Another bit of wisdom says, to err is human, to forgive divine. However many are refusing to cut Caitlin any slack...perhaps controlled by their own prejudices. Give her a break!

I was greatly disappointed at Caitlins remarks about white privilege. Did being white enable her to break every college record or set 22 rookie records in the WNBA? The only reason I watch the WNBA is because of Caitlin, I will probably watch a lot fewer games this season.

It is just words made up to make yourself and other fell superior over others at the drop of a hat just because they don't agree with you AND just to make clicks and money. From my perspective I think you are being excessive BUT I respect your opinion. We differ and I'm cool with that. You talk about CC's "rant". I say pot / kettle. I have nothing to gain from her public acclaim. I do not seek to earn off her name or fame. I sure as hell love how she plays and how presents as a professional.
