40 hours ... I've got 350 hours in the game . I'm on NG++ true ending everytine because I want too unlock the Wukong stance permanently and we'll over 300 sparcs and every single staff and armor unlocked

I feel like you have a very skewed opinion of what is difficult. We get it, you are great at these games, but you have to provide a review that is applicable to all potential buyers. I think a lot of people will buy the game based on your review, expecting something akin to God of War and will thoroughly hate you upon realising they were tricked. This game is very difficult in places, let’s not get it twisted. Is it the most difficult game ever? No. But to call it easy is really not true.

Kratos feels like a God but Wukong feels like a normal being. God of war main character is OP. One on one fight between Kratos and Wukong will be a one sided fight. No doubt Kratos is the God killer.

This might be the balanced review I've heard so far. Seems like a very fair summary of all the others I've seen haha. Some of the other reviews left me puzzled because they were so adamant about one weakness or strength and others completely disagreed but this one seems to really cover all of those points to some degree or another. Well done!

Some people lament that the game is a Boss rush... Well you are playing Monkey Demigod. In the prequel before his imprisonment and subsequent journey to Nirvana, Wukong was pretty much tearing up Heaven.

He only had issues (not even that hard for him though) when facing Heavenly generals. What a gamer audience would normally called a named enemy or minibosses/bosses.
So yeah, this is actually respect the lore because Wukong is pretty dang powerful.

So this game is God of war with three Dodges basically. God of War 2018 was Sammy to it just was fun and addictive I assume this game won't be as big but will still be very fun as well.

My biggest concern is that I've yet to see anyone say anything really positive about the story. Journey to the west is such a unique tale that's all about the story, so I was hoping this game would be full of that whimsical, unique, mystical heavily narrative driven focus from the books. I know this game isn't a retelling of that story and it's supposed to be either events after the book, or an alternate timeline, or whatever and just be based on the source material in a lot of ways, but I was still hoping for the game to tell a spectacular story. Unfortunately not a single review has shown any praise for the narrative itself and all say all the glory goes to the boss rush style gameplay, with some reviewers actually pointing out a weak story as one of their main cons. I'm hoping it's better than my new expectations because I love big stories, and I love the mythological wonder of the books, and I'm hoping there's more of a parallel than I've seen so far.

Thanks for the review. I'm glad that you stated it isn't a Souls like because people on Twitter have been stating the opposite. I like both Souls like and God of War games so to me that isn't an issue, it's just nice to know what category the game falls into. In your footage the maps (look beautiful) but also they look really sparse of non-boss enemies. Is this the case?

Interesting to read comments from PC gamers getting all excited about the PS5 version not really being shown yet. Don't worry about it if you game on PC, just get on with it and give yourself one less thing to worry about in life. (Vape)

For PS5 gamers, rumour control suggests that the PS5 version is so well optimised with the rigid architecture of the console that showing it now would have PC gamers flocking for a refund in protest costing the developer a lot of money. Hold tight, and enjoy the game in a few days.

crazy, bro I heard about this game is like a museum, it has tons of hidden content waiting to be discovered during exploration, and even the boss fights are part of the hidden content. you must explore it patiently.

Big chances on ppl who cant get through 10 minutes of a souls game (I'm one of those ppl) being able to complete this game and probably with minimal deaths too. I got this game because it looks approachable to anyone. Something souls games have nvr looked like to me. My favorite games since I was a kid has been the god of war series and this looks like it plays like the current style of god of war games

Nice review, my one Q would be given how there is no difficulty settings, how would this game fair for people who enjoy story mode, as a reference after 3 hours in Lies of P I never got past that first mini boss on the train station and not keen on burning money again.

This was the best, most detailed review I've seen of this game yet. Literally everyone is setting this up as a soulslike and I can't play soulslike games. I was actually thinking of getting a refund. Nobody else has made the comparison with God of War yet as if they have completely forgotten about that game and all I hear from everyone is Elden Ring and Bloodborne, and literally, with everything that I saw in this video, God of War looks to be the closest thing to this. I needed this video, to hold out hope. Thanks.
