The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom reviewed by Tom Marks on Nintendo Switch.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is far greater than a gimmicky spinoff led by Zelda instead of Link. Its echo summoning is used to cleverly combine the expertly crafted dungeons, puzzle rooms, and item progression you’d expect from a classic-style 2D Zelda with the borderline unhinged freedom provided by Tears of the Kingdom. This experiment doesn’t produce an entirely perfect result, with a little bit of clunky menu management and combat that simply isn’t quite as compelling, but it’s an impressively successful one all the same. Echoes of Wisdom is also a glowing proof of concept for how a modern 3D Zelda could recapture some of what fans like me miss about the series before Breath of the Wild without sacrificing the intoxicating creativity it introduced. Creating echoes aside, if this is the future of Zelda, I can’t wait to see more.

Dragging enemies and summons is a core mechanic. It's ridiculous to complain about standing still while your summons do the work when the whole point is strategic positioning and timing their abilities.
Will I be lost if I get this one or is it a good standing alone game? ❤
very bad review
this game is hot trash
I love how I totally thought a deku nut was a piranha plant which gives it some continuity even though some lazy effort its cool that they pull from multiple franchises or even different time lines throughout the Zelda franchise which makes it feel more grounded as these monsters are evolutions of an arbitrary timeline
Amazing game. So much fun to solve puzzles. Some echoes are so broken it makes it so satisfying to defeat enemies.
For the last boss fight, I just sent a big ass Darknut into battle and got the hell out of the way 😂
Yep, I am smarter than that yep.
