To add more context: this is in their guidelines to release games in the Epic games store. It demands a pronoun feature, where you must ask the player for them. Steam doesn’t have such a strict guideline.
To me it’s looking like steam will have an uncensored version (for example sound fx that say “yes master”) and a censored version in the Epic store

No one who actually wrote/created something useful would've proposed and enforced something so useless. If we, as coders, are already forced to go through someone else's code, finding funny or rageful comments makes it a bit easier on the mind.

Regarding the naming of classes/methods, people have been struggling with that since forever so no amount of new rules will change anything, but eh, why not make our lives harder by changing convention like "Master - Slave" to "Teacher-Student", but who knows, we could ask git's "main" branch about it's predecessor to get our answer to where the industry leaders are guiding us towards.

At least we'll all get replaced in the next few years by AI that has been trained on non-inclusive sources, hah.

Jokes on them you don’t need dialogue or story to make a good indie game on unreal. And there are plenty of scantily clad female models on the epic marketplace with breast and butt bones ready to go for physics. People have made asset flip type games of like skimpy girls fighting zombies and they’ve gone viral. Nothing stopping non woke indies from being made unless they straight up ban the use of certain models.

I do coding for a company that likes to virtue signal and we use terms such as blacklist and master all the time, it's only suppliers of what we use that might try stuff like using the word main instead of master but we just ignore it.

Also what if core functions we can't change are seen as 'problematic'? Like today I was using a function called preg_match, is someone going to get offended about pregnancy??

Well guys, guess we'll just have to ab- ort all current Unreal Engine projects, nu- ke all UE files from our computers, blacklist UE as a suitable engine, and only whitelist Godot now. The differences between Godot and UE are like black and white, and Godot may be a little hard to master but in the end it'll all be worth it if we can finally free coding/programming from this absurd linguistic sla- very.

I can practically see my ESG score dropping into the negatives just for that paragraph.

All they do is applauding themselves for destroying things other people love. It has even got to a point where I take it personal and I will do everything in my power to fight back against their idiotic hypocrisy, which is not just destroying good video games/movies, but also splitting our society as a whole.

These people are nothing more than pathetic losers who can't do anything productive in their lifes and because of that, they want to drag everyone else down to the ground, so that they can feel better. Absolutely pathetic. They like to seed chaos and then watch the fire do the rest, while fueling it.

ESG funding can't dry up quickly enough imo. DEI being forcibly inserted even at the coding level is taking the actual piss. Can't use whitelist and blacklist even though those terms have been used for ages. The level of control these people are trying to exert over others is ridiculous. I hate using the term but if the roles were reversed and we were telling these "woke" people what they can and can't say they'd be outraged. But it's okay for them to do it to us because they're representing a marginalised group? Respectfully, they can go f*** themselves.
