I play older generations of games ps3, 360, ps4 mostly . I can’t afford most of the newer games. I only buy a new game rarely .
if u can retire at 50 which is highly recommended then u will still have the brain and performance to game those really2 great games to 75 years old.
the best time to play great video games like witcher 3, red dead 2, cyberpunk 2077 is when u retire. i would assume many people retire at the age of 75 nowadays ? lets say u can live to 100 years, that gives u 25 years of time to game, if ure fit to play and enjoy those game.
i can buy those games, but no time, i can play those games, but like what ? 2 hours max everyday ? back then i can play 8 hours easy daily, 16 hours during weekend. now ? too busy, have other important priorities.
I have spent less and less time playing games in the last couple of years. I just don't find that there are that many great ones coming out anymore. Lots of focus on online type games but that just isn't for me.
Sorry, Games are just garbage these days. For a ridiculous price to top it off.
My working schedule doesnt allow me more time to play, and in my day offs im too tired to game so I prefer to watch anime
People are busy and there are too many games. People buy games for the hype just to say they have "played" it (played 1 hour and then added to their backlog).
I still have a lot of time at my age, so I go from one to another after 100%
the world needs 4 days work and 3 days weekend.
why are people allowing the system dictate their lives?
i watch games cuz wats the point in paying to play a game that just manipulates u all games out now are just algarithms for idiots that fall for it
I used to love video games as a teenager, but as I got older, into my 20's, gaming kind of took a backseat for me. I think there are a a few reasons a lot of people stopped playing games, myself included…
1. Because most video games that have come out over the last 5-10 years are freaking garbage. Just simply not fun.
2. The gaming world has offered all there is to offer, it seems (sort of aligns with number one). There is not enough new, or original ideas anymore.
3. Too expensive of a hobby. Especially when they raised the retail price to $70. Ridiculous.
4. People are just tired or burnout (This could have a lot to do with number 2).
Now do I still play games time to time? Sometimes, but when I do, it's older games. I'd still rather play the old Call of Duty games than play the new ones. Which don't look that good, in my opinion. And again, why would I pay $70 for something I'm not interested in? I'll stick to the classics.
Right now I'm gaming AND listening to this video, so do I get 2 "gaming" hours for every 1actual temporal hour?
I'm at a point where before buying a game, I look at How Long To Beat. 8h is the sweet spot, 20h is max for most of the games and 35h for series I'm a big fan of. If the game requires less hours – I'm more willing to buy.
We play games like we change channels. Be it games, music or even driving, we can barely concentrate on a single activity. Our brains are being rewired by Youtube, podcasts and TikTok to seek constant stimulation.
True. I'm 37 and it's not because I prefer watching Video game stuff over actually playing them. It's because I'm at work and I listen to podcasts or other gaming videos to fill in that video game gap. I only get to game on weekends because of work and marriage, so I'm not surprised by the stats.
Nearing 30, work and I still find 40 hrs. of time to play in a week
Just shows that people dont have enough time for themselves
I am about 50/50 for watching/playing. Watching is taking place of the playground talk I used to have as a kid taking games with my friends.
Really? I'm buried literally under video games of all types Spiderman Last of us and many others 😂❤
Let not Beat around Bush!! …… new games sux due to Political Correctness, the Talent left and now retirement. New developers got to have Diversity…..plain boring gender fluid unlikable characters. Plus No games nothing promising on Horizon.
I play only older games 🎮
Im one of those that's not into video games like when i was younger. Maybe its because of responsabilites when you get older. I used to be able to play games for 8 hours straight now i cant.
I want to game more so badly, but I’m an adult with no available time. That’s why I’m writing to my representatives for a 32 hour workweek just to be able to have the time for chores, errands, family, friends, travel, and a LITTLE bit more time gaming.
35 year old dad with 3 kids. Life happens but still like the hobby and love tech
People are absolutely still playing games.
My standards for quality are higher, and my attention span is shorter. The novelty isn’t as strong as it used to be. I need a STRONG gameplay loop or a super compelling story to stick with a game for more than a few hours. Most games are one or the other, if either. Very few feel worth the 20-40 hours they require to complete.
Woke culture is destroying gaming industry, ppl just afraid of paying for a game that's why
The triple a games arent what they used to be and some people only play main stream shi
I've probably been playing even more than usual but i've been playing a ton of older games, usually on either my switch or ROG Ally while i have youtube playing in the background. I've also stopped buying a lot of the big open world games because i realized almost every time i get tired of it about half way through and start to feel like im forcing myself to finish it other than a few like elden ring and botw
This is because you want to play the game you just bought but you have a 9-5 work and you watch videos about the game between your breaks and until you get home you play a little before you tired and have to go to sleep and this is only for unmarried man for me weekend is the only opportunity to play a few hours a session
Getting a steam deck helped me play a lot of my games again (it made sense as my entire library is in steam). Before that, I wasn't playing a lot as well. I work from home and I just don't want to get stuck in my desk after working (as it still feels like I'm working while playing).
For me i never watch games walk-through or someone playing them because i don't enjoy it, i like to play myself if i can because it's interactive media if i can't interact then what's the point of it i would perfer watching a movie or doing something else instead, but i do understand people enjoy watching them specially with their favorite youtuber or streamer
I can guarantee at least one person still plays games. But I think with gaming, like other things, doing is better than watching.
New games take too long to install, run like crap and my pc turns into a jet engine when i play them. I'd rather just chill and watch a stream
I think it’s the older folks like me even who just don’t have the time to concentrate on the game. The money isn’t the issue I have the access in terms of hardware and funding. But between family, work, and growing responsibilities makes it hard. And when you do play it’s so far between sessions that you forget where the hell u left off. I can listen to these things while driving or doing another activity. And I’m not going to lie, the end of my days I’m so tired from everything that it’s just easier to relax and watch it since it’s still something I like but just too tired to sit on my computer and play. ironically I never thought it would come to this but here we are lol. My old man warned me about it too lmao
If all the games that are being made are broken upon release, how the heck can people play more? They can’t. Nice job at being obvious though!
There aren't a lot of new games that look to be worth buying..replay games or older games on sale that I never played. Not really about the money, but why spend full price or close to it when I don't know if I'll even like it.
