Love this. Question, i've just got the PS5 slim 30th edition & bought an extra 30th edition dual sense. I noticed you have a grey 30th anniversary controller stand, did that come with the limited edition pro? Is it available to buy anywhere?

What pisses me off but I can somewhat understand, Is that Sony could have made more than 12,300 units of these but didn't. Sony is playing on the nostalgic factor of their customer base. They KNOW that the people who are gonna buy this, are the people who are in their 30s or 40s reminiscing on the past back when they were a young boy enjoying the PS1. Sony's strategy is to dress up the PS5 Pro in the old PS1 colors, add a dualsense edge controller and a few giveaways, box it up very nicely, make it a "limited edition" and it would fly off the shell even if they price gouge the hell out of it. Sony is celebrating Playstation's 30th anniversary, they could have made 30,000 units and it still would have sold out IMO. Why make 12,300 units only? The scalpers probably have purchased majority or at least half of these units using online bots to reserve theirs, so that they can sell it at 3x-5x the original price. About half of the remaining units was probably purchased by the unboxers and influencers for content, and the last half by actual loyal playstation fanboys.

My frustration with Sony is that they are enabling these scalpers who are price gouging the thing even worse than they are when they do this "limited edition" shit. They want to celebrate Playstation's 30th Anniversary? then celebrate it with everyone! Sony should've announced it like "To celebrate Playstation's 30th anniversary, from 12/03/2024 - 12/03/2025 for one whole year, all PS5 units will be produced in the iconic original Playstation colors" and if they really wanted to push it, they can still offer this ridiculous BIG BOX as a "limited" collector's edition and throw in some more useless items in it that won't break their bank, but will allow them to overcharge the total price.

That way everyone is happy, the 30-40yr old dads out there who wants to purchase this purely out of nostalgia can afford to do so, even though their kids might be the ones using it majority of the time. The influencers and unboxing channels can purchase the collectors edition for their video contents and the scalpers can still price gouge for the idiots that are willing to pay.

I wrote this long comment because I just wanted to express my frustration. I AM one of those mid 30's loyal playstation fanboy who grew up playing the PS1 and all the generations that came after it and wants to purchase this purely out of nostalgia. I have the launch PS5 version and my son is the one who mostly plays on it, I literally would purchase the PS5 Pro in the 30th anniversary skin if it was priced fairly and just as a stand alone. I don't need the extra junk that comes in that big box, just sell me the unit w/ a controller and I'll be a happy man... but I'm not willing to pay a ridiculous price that they were selling it for, not to mention the scalpers are trying to sell it for $3,500 - $5,000 and some poor idiot will be willing to pay it.

Enjoy buddy! All look incredible. I was lucky enough to get both a 30th Anniversary Dualsense and Dualsense Edge. The Edge is my fave controller of all time now.

it's been confirmed that only social media influencer's have a chance of getting a 30th anniversary PlayStation 5 Pro.... the packaging made to unbox and showcase.... only a certain amount made... account for all the videos uploaded of this being unboxed by multiple users.... must be nice...... give fame to already big names on social media while we wish we had content like this handed to our channels....

I wish i could have the 30th anniversary controller.
But everywhere i have tried to pre order it, it was already sold out before the pre order even began... -.-
I have actually no clue how it is possible to pre order things anymore because of how fast things get sold out.

Man Sony should've made 123000 units of the Pro Bundle. It would've made very little difference to their 12/3 celebration logic but a lot more PlayStation fans would have had the chance to score one. Not to mention it wouldn't have been as profitable for scalpers either. Win-win-win.
