Darkest Hour. What a bargain!!!
So glad I found this channel, every video a winner
great vid, to the point, doesn't mess about. Thanks, subscriber gained!
For me, the problem with grand strategy (or even "normal" strategy) games is that whatever I play, I end up wanting to play a corresponding Paradox game instead…
Yes, the DLC cost is intimidating, but you get so much depth, variety and replayability for that price.
Cost per hour, for me at least, is much better value that paying 50 quid for a game I play for a week, then think "meh, I'll play EU/Stellaris/CK3/HoI instead".
Great vid, knights of honour here I come!
I have most of these, but Shadow of Forbidden Gods had been under my radar. Have it now, though!
(Note: Have joined the discord, but under another name.)
Never laughed so much in CK3, i had the chance to become a berserker which i accepted who wouldn't. Ended up killing most of my court and all but two of my kin.
Surprised you didn't add Stelaris to the list
I enjoy Paradox games. But, too much with the cheating. Paradox developers love chaos and, given that I prefer to bring order, I quite often just swear off their titles for a while.
I picked up Knights of Honor II for $1.29 on instant gaming.
LOL played 5-10 hours of Victoria 3… so the opening menus then 😉
So glad I stumbled on your corner of the internet. Love Grand Strategy.
Another great video
Well done sir.
been playing Stellaris
Kudos for shadow of forbidden gods is an amazing game with great real art
You are so wrong about Victoria3…. you can spent hours of time in this game and still will not get bored… every round is new and this game is a masterpiece. But your list is really great and I consider one ot two games for my pile of shame :).
Nice to see Darkest Hour getting a mention. Have many hours into this game and the mods that have been created for it. Imperium's: Greek Wars seems promising. Will have to check it out. Appreciate these videos.
Hearts of Iron 4 is fun until you start noticing bugs and nonsensical game mechanics under the surface. Also be warned that game director openly admits that fixing the game is not the priority because developers team have to pump out overpriced DLCs.
I think you've missed the best point of Field of Glory: Kingdoms, which is that it was designed as a strategic layer for Field of Glory 2: Medieval. Just as with Empires for FOG 2 the result was an excellent stand alone game, but I think the best experience is still had using both and I'd suggest anyone picking up one game gets the other as well.
Personally I would have made room for the wonderful Old World by ditching one of the Paradox games from the list. The less than stellar Vicky 3 seems the obvious choice. Talking of Paradox, my opinion for what it"s worth is that the best Steam sale bargain is actually Imperator: Rome. Folks can look up the history, but the patched game is actually one of their best and is gloriously free of the over-priced and largely unnecessary DLC bloat of their more commercially successful games.
Really enjoying these videos
Shadows Of Forbidden Gods is the most interesting one
hmmm do i own that game
Too many good games 😊
I totally missed the Fields of Glory: Kingdoms game, the other games on the list I mostly have already
Awesome list…unfortunately won't be able to get anything 'til February.
Hopefully some of them can be played off-line?
I have some of these but hadn't seen knights of Honour 2. Looks good and surely worth €14.84 I think I'll p[ck it up. Be nice to play a strategy game that's a bit easier on the brain unlike CK3 of HOI4, they can wear you out.
I picked up Ara History Untold.
Imperiums has a great feel which I find very enjoyable.
wow, awesome games
Nice list there. I have a few of them, Crusader Kings 3, Hearts of Iron IV, Europa Universalis IV. None of which I could get into lol.
