MU Stock – Micron Technology NEWS & ANALYSIS!

Micron Technology, Inc. engages in the provision of innovative memory and storage solutions. It operates through the following segments: Compute and Networking Business Unit (CNBU), Mobile Business Unit (MBU), Embedded Business Unit (EBU), and Storage Business Unit (SBU)

Major U.S. equity averages rose Thursday as quarterly U.S. economic growth was affirmed at a solid rate and Micron Technology (MU) offered a robust outlook, but stocks came off session highs.

The S&P 500 (SP500) +0.2%, still in line to notch a fresh record close, which would be its 42nd of the year. The Nasdaq Composite (COMP:IND) +0.3%, and the Dow (DJI) +0.5%. Five of the 11 sectors in the S&P 500 (SP500) were higher, paced by Materials and Industrials. Energy lost the most.

Investors were in “risk on-mode” given Micron’s (MU) better-than-expected guidance late Wednesday and further stimulus measures in China, Goldman Sachs’ FICC and equities desk said in a note. Following China’s stimulus announcement, Appaloosa Management founder David Tepper told CNBC he was buying “everything” tied to China.
