Very good!
I remember playing the stickerbush level back when it came out and I was in awe..
There was something magical about this emotional and big sounding track coming out of little electronic box. Nowadays its a novelty but back in the day the idea that this came from a tiny chip was like magic. Remember this way before mp3 players or even a pc with a 16bit sound card.
Definitely check out Tim Follin's compositions for NES and SNES if you want to see some more genius level use of hardware.
The Music in Many SNES games sounded pretty awesome to me, especially Act Raiser, Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World.
Aí parceiro, maneiro show de bola
That 3 minutes of MP3 is at a shitty bitrate of 128kbps. Great for really old websites. Videos like this, I always go to the comments first for all the real and accurate information.
Thank you for the video
Super Metroid and donkey Kong country both had the best music in my opinion. That music was peak Fr
Reproducía los sonidos,no los creaba.
La génesis era un sintetizador en sí.
This makes those songs that much greater. We have it made with the way we make music today using DAWs.
useless video… that copy/past Wiki pages but with many fake news…
That’s way off… damn.
I remember playing my mom’s og NES and sometimes on Mario 1 (which is all I’d ever play on it) the song’s bass and drums would become isolated for a bit. Like the melody/lead went away and it was bass and drums for a few seconds
Using all 64k of the sound chip on the SNES. 64k as in the equivalent to C64 and Amstrad CPC!
That's also why people keep coming back to play them. Not only were there so many good games, but there was a lot of quality work behind them to ensure people got their money's worth.
You have to consider how important the GM MIDI sound bank was during this time. It's why you can have something that sounds like a full orchestral soundtrack, even with the limited channels and only a few Kb at one's disposal.
super mario all stars mario bros 1 music with super mario world logo on top
4:22 internet checkpoint music
Very bad docu, with a lot of wrong info.
64Kb sound memory 🤦🏼
You spent more time editing this video than you did actually researching facts.
0:20 the wrong song. this is not from super castlevania 4
😀
"Super Mario World"
*shows footage of Super Mario All Stars*
0;16 is mario all stars not mario world
Thanks to this video, I have a Wave station, which is my favorite synthesizer now.
Great video!
Hbomberguy's video on plagiarism got me remembering how this awful video is what killed video essays for me.
Not saying it was plagiarized, but the nice editing and confident delivery is all very convincing when you don't know much on a subject, but when you do, seeing something with those pretty tricks but it being filled with wrong information just sucks. It puts doubt on every other video you ever uploaded.
And the fact 5 years later it's still up with 0 corrections from you despite all of the the comments pointing out your flaws, and the description instead is only selling your new book and sponsorships, I think says a lot about your integrity as a creator.
There was basic easy to double check information in here that I don't even know how you got wrong, like not even getting the name of a game you are showing right.
I could care less about DKC.. what I really love are the orchestral stuff from Actraiser and Super Ghouls n Ghosts! now that´s serious audio delight!
"Limitation breeds creativity" – Truer words have never been spoken
Just with the Snes DK Country 2 music intro, no matter how old you were, your ears knew you were going to experience something else.
Lights dim, vol up, ironic that the TV I used had mono sound, because "mono" means "monkey" in Spanish. It was like going to the cinema, to see and play the lead role!
DKC, KI, Jet Force Gemini, Rareware were synonymous with prestige.
excellent
And nowdays we have GB of Ram and cant create unique Music.
0:15 that's not super mario world, that's super mario allstars' version of super mario bros. 1's overworld theme.
There was no tracker. SNES composers use a scripting language called MML (Music Macro Language) to write music. I've used it myself and it's a lot of fun.
this video's flow is immaculate man, thanks for inspiring me always the visuals just guide me through so nicely that I was just fully present in it. much love
I’ve come back to this video every single month it is my favorite video on YouTube Mabye even my favorite video ever I love it so much
tim follin my beloved
Most SNES songs are converted through Addmusick after being typed through a language called music macro (MML). Super Mario World uses this format along with All Stars
An amazing SNES track i found is called Torchkas – can you feel. When i heard that i was like "woah, the snes was much s-er than the nes!"
I still don’t understand how that song is only 64kb
Thank you so much for this insightful video
хайпажер ебаный
0:15 correction, that is Super Mario All-Starts SMB1 Overworld, not SMB.
At 2:09, the greatest song in game history by the great David Wise!💚🐸
Obrigado pela legendas em portugues
Novo Inscrito do Brasil!
I wish he'd redo this to be honest, though I know he won't. I feel like this is such a rich era for game programming
Bro that explosion at the 0:33 mark is crispy dude. Where can I find that sound?
