Who Wants To Live Forever – Queen
Did any female musician write, sing or cover a song when she knew she was dying?
Note to songwriters: Always have a sign off song!
What about Bob Marley 😮😅
Johnny Cash sang Hurt beautifully. Love it.
Johnny Cash
Luke Kelly – The Night Visiting Song. He performed it live very shortly before he died of brain cancer. A really moving performance. You can hear Ronnie Drew say, "Well done, Luke", as the song ends.
That picture was NOT Johnny Cash’s wife, it was his MOTHER. His WIFE was still alive and in the video.
You missed Ronnie James Dio's "This Is Your Life"
What about, " Who Wants to Live Forever"??
Another very powerful last song from an artist is: The Last Emperor Feat. Poetic & Esthero – One Life
Poetic literally tells you the story of how his reactions to getting liver cancer was, how it was going to the hospital and afterwards knowing that his days were numbered. Very powerful lyrics
Wasn't Jonny Cash's wife a pic of his late mother his wife June was on the stairs. In a cruel twist of fate, he knew he was dying and didnt want to leave his wife alone then she went in for a routine op and died on the table I don't know for sure but he didn't last very long after June passed RIP to both.
George Harrison was, unknowingly on his part, my mentor since I first saw the Beatles on TV in 1964. I was 7, and he inspired me to pick up a guitar not long after and, at 68, I still love playing and singing more than anything else. George's death hit me as if I lost a close friend, although I never met him. Stuck Inside A Cloud, Looking For My Life, and Run So Far still touch me as they did when Brainwashed was first released. I wish I could have told him of the impact he had on my life.
RIP Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. Hearing the song Fiction
David Bowie, Johnny Cash and Freddie Mercury still hurt.
Linkin Park, One More Light.
Chester knew he was planning to kill himself.
Not a natural cause, but still.
The Show Must Go On should be on the list
elvis presley can be on this list because of his final song way down
HURT
Why isnt mother love number one?! And where is to live is to die by Metallica? The only one written by Cliff And he died in a bus accident. Worth mentioning. This needs an update. And a prophetic song "Nothing can last forever", Polish one by Anna Jantar, its her last song ever, died in plane accident
Not including one more light is kind of a crime
Mother love has one line that spells "i long for peace before i die" and everytime i hear it it gives me chills.
You’re talking about people dying you couldn’t have reported with a little more calm it’s not a lighthearted thing
9:02 to 10:19 watch it
Glen Campbell he died the same way as my dad did the day before and they also shared the same name Glen my Dad loved singing his songs I played the song for my dad the day before he passed away from Alzheimer's
The cover of "Hurt" by Johnny Cash is the greatest one I have ever heard. Even Trent said it was no longer his song, it had become Johnny's. All these years later it still brings goosebumps all over when I hear it. That for me will always be number 1.
I know he originally recorded the song for a movie years prior, but Toby Keith's final performance of "Don't Let The Old Man In" hits hard.
You could tell as he sang it that he was essentially saying goodbye.
it was so weird for me when Bowie passed, i was always on his instagram waiting for the upcoming album updates, listened to it when it came out on his bday, and then 2 days later my mom wakes me up to say that he was gone, i said "but he just released an album…"
Half of these are tracks made well before the singer knew they were ill. Click baity title.
I’m shocked Linkin Park’s some More Light isn’t here!
The Glan Campbell song I'm Not Gonna Miss You is not supposed to be comical… it's brutally honest… when you have dementia one of the cruelest thing is for the family… they remember how their loved one was, but their loved one can't remember anyone…
The whole Innuendo album is one of many reasons I admire Freddie Mercury.
Good thing he met Bowie somewhere in heaven.
I'd say the show must go on and Who wants to live forever also might refer to Freddie coming to terms with his own mortality.
How is 'Don't let the old man in' by Toby Keith not on this list??
How about "Clouds" by Zach Sobiech?
Forgot Minnie Ripperton "Back Down Memory Lane", and she shot the video a week before she passed.
naya rivera singing if i die young on glee before dying.
I feel like one of them should be Elvis Presley and his covers of either "Unchained Melody" or "My Way" which he sang both at his last concert two months before he died, and the way he sang them, especially "Unchained Melody" being the last song in the concert, the lyrics “Godspeed your love to me” and “I’ll be coming home, wait for me”, it’s like he just knew he was gonna die 😢😢
This list hits right in the feels. Damn onion ninjas.
We're all dying. All will go the way of the world until Jesus Christ comes for his church.
Tupac Shakur
I AIN'T MAD AT U.
GOD BLESS THE DEAD
Should've been in the list.
The Show Must Go On was the one that hit and still does. I remember Freddie Mercury looking so fraile and the stories of how he pushed through the recording sessions. Legend for sure
I love the Johnny cash . His daughter says “it’s like you’re saying goodbye!?” And he replies “I am”
What about Toby Keith "Don't Let the Old Man In"
Minnie Riperton’s “Back Down Memory Lane” should have been at least an honorable mention
